[QUOTE="dukebd699"][QUOTE="Cloud_Insurance"][QUOTE="Metawave1975"]I reckon its because of a more Japanese graphic style, many regard it as "un-manly" or "a feminine game" but its probably not, I do however thing that it will take something special to bethrown Lost Odyssey.
Plus LO had some of the old FF team on it, meaning even though its a new ip it already had a hopeful fanbase, the tales series isn't known by many people and this could be a important factor on the sales.

This is definitely why. Unless a game is flat out amazing, I'm probably not going to play it if it has that seemingly kiddie japanese art style. I just don't like it. Didn't bother with Blue Dragon for the same reason.
Well it is flat out amazing. I don't get why it's a "kiddie" art style though. Just because it's animated doesn't mean it's kiddie. Look at Comedy Central's programming for example. Would you consider South Park "kiddie" because of its art stlye? Tales is anything but a kids game.
I remember when i was young, i had a Southpark poster in my room, my mother thought it was a cute cartoon for kids... til' one day a cousin told her what it was about, she burned it...
I said "seemingly kiddie" as in when you look at the game, it looks like a game for kids. That is enough to turn off a lot of people.
And South Park is full of violence, with explicit gore, so nobody really confuses it with being a kids tv show...
