downloaded the demo for endwar on xbl.... and call me suprised, the game is really fun! im very impressed with the voice recognition and what it adds to the feel of the game. it is much more intense when you ahve to call out orders via voice than just pointing and clicking. i think this is the perfect way to play an RTS on a console. props to UBI for putting together what seems to be an excellent RTS.

my only real complaint.... the lack of the ability to zoom out. the camera such as it is keeps you way too close to everything, and it is a total pain in the ass to get a broad view of the battlefield. i would much prefer a top down perspective (ala the commander view in battlefield 2) in order to play this game, would make things a hell of a lot easier.

as it is, i can see myself picking this game up on release, im very suprised!

Yeah I find the this new system to be much more interacting, I liked it just one problem. I was yellin the orders and my sister and parents were dying laughing at me and kept callin me a loser haha

buh I just hate the fact everyone is always better then me in RTS so I get owned really badly whenever I play = no fun for me :(.

its a great feature, the voice command, and its good you can use your bog standard360 headset without having to buy another peripheral.

i really enjoyed the demo and will be buying this one. i think its the way forward for console RTS.

Yeah, the voice commands worked great! I heard this was primarily a multiplayer game, although there is a story mode. I'm not sure how true that is, but it has me concerned since I always get my butt kicked in RTS games as well.

My only issue with the voice recognition system is I couldn't find a way to command my troops to get inside a transport, and when they're at the objective, to unload and secure it. I had to use button commands for those. Maybe I just didn't see the proper voice command...

Lol at first sentence.. not that you're a loser by any means. It's just funny how family members react to stuff that you do. No one understands my gaming hobby or other hobbies for that matter either.. so I'm on the same boat as you, minus the laughing part. :P ;)

honestly man, call me suprised, because i didnt like it at all. the camera was too close for a strategy game and thus showed off it's ugly graphics. had it been further out a la command and conquer 3 it wouldnt have been so bad, but other than that the voice recognition was very cool and a step forward for games, but it seemed like the only driving force behind this game and the game feels entirely built around that concept solely and everything else is uninspired and boring. i also feel that after yelling the same few voice commands over and over again it will get old and you will want controller control back again. just my opinion though

I found the game alittle confusing a zoomed out view would help alot. The Voice recognition works surprising well.

hopefully on release there will be different camera options, or they will patch in camera options, because the zoomed in view is WAAAAAAY too close.

in the options at the main menu, there is an option called "camera zoom".... choose "highest" and it zooms the camera out far enough to see the your surroundings very well.

There is a over the veiw mode, you need a command vehicle and then press back. It looks like a hologram which makes it even cooler, you cna also control your units from that view

whenever someone says something about me being a gamer I just give them some comment explaining how its just a hobby like everybody else has. Some people make insane train models, some go golfing alot or some sport, watch tv, etc etc etc theres too many hobbies and things to do for entertainment to list.

Theres no difference really, if you enjoy it, do it. And there are how many gamers on this planet....a **** load. Usually when I say something along these lines people start to agree with me and see my point. although either way I don't care.

and on topic i was in the beta, and while the voice recognition was cool the combat IMO was lame. tell your troops to go attack someone or go to a control point and watch them sit and fire at each other. I could only bare to play two games and couldnt stand it honestly. I would rather play WiC. kinda the same style, u usually only control 4-6 units although u can do more. but theres alot of other units controlled by other players.

sry to cross compare but i am going to dl the demo at some point i think and see if i can get into it. hope not, b/c its just another game I'll have to end up buying that i cant afford :)

Try "Unit x Move To Target" and make sure your reticule is on the transport. If that doesnt work say: "Unit x Camera" then when you are in control of them click "A" on the transport.
