Since Team Fortress 2 has been out for awhile, I am wondering how the on line play is still holding on Xbox live. Does it take awhile for a team to form? If so, how long?

Well from the last time I check the online is not dead but it does not have alot of people playing anymore.I say get it because next year they are bringing the new update so the 360 version will be getting everything the PC people got.

You will find matches every night. The community in it and Left 4 Dead are the best I've met especially for newbies. When searching for servers, press "Y" once or twice to filter by green ping. The pop may increase once the update rolls out which is said to decrease the glitches and add 10-18 new maps and class-based weaponry.

man, that sucks that there isn't a big following on live for this game. i would get the pc version but i have really bad hand problems(carpel tunnel) so that leaves me with the console version(controller doesn't hurt my hand like the mouse).

The online community on Live is alive and well. You can always find a game of Team Fortress going. As I asked in another thread does anyone have any links to what the new update will include?

I suppose people play it, but from the 5 times i've played it on live, it was lag city, so half the time the whole other team was 'glitching' or w/e they call it..it was very confusing because i had no idea how i kept dying..oh well

It was suprisingly populated two hours ago. I thought it'd die down by now.

Whenever I go on, I generally don't see THAT many games, but it's not too difficult to find a well populated one in day time. When I make a game, the game either fills up quickly, by the end of the first round, capture, etc. or it takes a while (mostly only at night). The update I hear is going to cost money on the 360 version, I'm not sure how much, but I hear it's because MS won't let Valve release it for free like they did for PC.

I play at all odd hours, and I usually host. I have no problem filling 14 player games, regardless of the time.

Valve online games usually suck when it comes to consoles because they take forever to update the console version and they took too long for this update so I don't think a lot of ppl are going to come back to the console version of TF2

I bought two copies over christmas from Blockbuster.com for less than $12 a pop for me and my brother (mainly due to the articles I read about the MASSIVE back update coming to 360). Apparently, because they can't give it for free, they've been waiting till all the updates come out on PC, bundle it once, and then send it out for a one time fee. Problem with that is its taking waaayyy too long. If the price is @ anywhere above $10 count me out.

If you got the PC to handle it, or play with AA and AF jacked up with a high resolution, get it for PC. Its generally cheaper than the 360 version and unlike Xbox games, PC games tend to keep a following even years later. Look on Gamespy there's people still tearing it up on Quake 3, MoH:AA, CS, CS:S, DoD, DoD:S. More than likely, the population is a lot higher on the PC version.

Though I have one friend who still plays this on a consistent basis and apparently there's no trouble finding a game.

well I put the game in for the first time in months yesterday and the online community is still great, always about 5 or 6 games running at a time with 10 people - 20 people in each and thats for one map, I dont really search for anymore cause 2Fort is the most played I think. Plus the people in the game do not hardly talk **** at all, its a really laid back game and you dont get too mad at it.

I just tried the game on line. pretty cool. how can i tell the bot's from the human players? seems like the other team might of been nothing but bots because when i hit the button to view the teams in the game it would not list the classes of the other team.

I like Steam games for PC more because they get immediate updates instead of having to wait (although I think L4D will get them at same time for both? But still), so I would recommend the PC version if you have a recent computer that can run it but if not then I have heard from my friend who has 360 version that it's not super active but it's not dead so it's somewhere in the middle. PC version however is still LOOOOTS of servers though. I don't know maybe I'm just bias for Valve + PC.

It wont list the classes of the other team. Also there's no bots in the game. I've played for 300 hours and i've always found a game.

I got the orange box about a week ago, but I can't ever seem to find a ranked match for TF2. Is this a glitch or do people only play unranked? No one seems to have a mic either.

Try unranked it's more populated. Also send Palantas a friends request because he plays ranked constantly. He plays ranked a lot it's probably best to create a room of your own so people will join. Most games i go into it's 50/50 with mics.
