So heres my recently developed problem and I dont even know where to begin to fix it because ive tried everything I can think of. First the problem: at first while playing my games after a period of time (half hour or so) the screen would begin to smear red and have red lines come up accross the screen every now and then. I thought it was just the game so I played another one and found the same thing and sometimes green would do that. Its like the colors go all funny like when you set your color on your computer to like 256 colors or whatever. The colors just dont look right for red mostly and sometimes green. Now the cable on the tv works and my wii doesnt or at least hasn't done it yet, just the x-box. Now today and real real recently 90% of the time I turn my x-box on and switch my tv to the HDMI video setting it wont even detect my xbox, just displays no signal. Ive switch to component set up, same stuff. Ive messed will all my video setting on x-box and on the tv. Nothing improved. My hookups are correct, my video channel is correct and ive tried them all. I don't know wut else to try, or do. I dont even know what peice of hardware is failing if thats the case. Lukily I have best buy warrenty on both but what is the problem?

If the colors are "smearing", and you have already tried different cables (HDMI vs. Component), it sounds like your GPU is on its way out. If you bought the Best Buy warranty, take it back and get a new one.

Let us know if you get any hassle with the warranty.

Yeah, your graphics card is dying. If your 360 is under a year old it will be covered by your warranty. Other than that, pray for the RRoD.

The exact thing happened to me last week. I ended up calling xbox and they told me my warranty had expired and that it was going to take 100 dollars to fix it. If you have a warranty or not, you're going to have to get it fixed. Sorry dude.
