Hey all, this problem I have as been going on for a while now, and it's not just to do with GTA IV, and spreads across all my games.

Let's go to the start: back when Halo 3 came out, I was playing on a 17" monitor with VGA HD cable. I soon noticed that I had an incredibly bad aliasing problem, where nearly all objects in the game (especially thin objects such as poles and the like) were terribly jaggy. I also noticed that some objects in the world would only appear in front of me at a certain short distance. Back then, I was playing on a normal 20 gig white 360 I had since launch. This problems occured with all my games, there would be abnormal aliasing that should've be there and it made loads of games look damn ugly.

Now, I'm onto a 26" HD telly on 1080i, playing on an Elite with HDMI. Yet I still have the same problem!

It is especially annoying on GTA IV where the world is big and open, so there are a lot of aliasing faults.

Basically, this is pissing me off as I feel I'm not experiencing the graphical intensity of the game that I should be.

It's also weird how this problem has spanned across two different formats on two different 360s

So does anyone have ANY idea how to fix this? I turned the sharpness down on my TV a lot, and it helped, but not technically, it was more of a cover-up.

Because I used to use an OFFICIAL MS VGA and HDMI cables, I was thinking of maybe investing in a better 3rd party HDMI cable.. any ideas? Ta.

I use the MS HDMI cable that came with the elite.

I was thinking maybe a better 3rd party HDMI cable may rectify the prob?

Dont get different HDMI cables. Waste of money since the connection is digital, better cables do not increase the visual quality.

This is the only thing I can think of that would be causing this problem: Did you remember to configure your 360's video settings? The 360 displays in SD by default which, if you play on a monitor/HDTV, is going to look like absolute crap with lots of blur and jaggies.
