I'm pretty sure TF2 for 360 hasn't had any updates in quite some time.

There are no downloadable maps, several remaining bugs, and no class updates. It hasnt been patched in probably 18 months.

No, no updates. Yeah, there are plenty of people still playing; you can always find a game.

I think they released a bug fix update shortly after Orange Box came to 360. I don't think they've touched it since.

PC is the place to play TF2 anyway. Great game!!

well i will update my PC and buy L4D2 for X360 instead(maybe) since the great games like TF2 and Half life is just much better on PC, im not saying that L4D sucks but its more like casual shooter then a cartoon based blood game or the best single player game ever made :) imo

Edit : if the X360 got the update for TF2 i had just bought it there, since my PC needs a hardware update :P

It's been a fairly sore point since the PC version started getting updates. Valve said they would bring the updates to consoles as well, but time passed, deadlines passed, promises broke, and none of the PC updates made it to console. Now Valve just wish the fans would forget all about anything they promised to deliver, and want everyone to move onto Left 4 Dead, which of course they promise to support better - lol In short if you want the best experience from a Valve game, buy it through Steam

I think Valve is bringing all the new maps and class updates when it's done with all the classes for PC. Only the Engineer is left. If Valve doesn't announce the 360 update after the Engineer class update, then they probably aren't going to do it all. but if they are, it will be after Engineer.

Valve announced on there website last year that there was two issues..

- An issue with memory (the size of Orange Box already is huge and its hard for them to get the aditional size (1gb) for the updates.

- M$ wants to charge for these game changing updates and Valve doesnt want to charge for hte updates.

They said they are still working on it, but its been very hard for them to do for the reasons I said above. No estimated time of released, but they have said why its taking as long as it is... its still going to happen though.

My personal favorite online game this gen. I own both PC and 360 version.

TF2 OFFICIAL BLOG=

The XBox 360 update is still being worked on. If you're wondering what's taking so long, since the content is "done" on the PC already, it's mostly been around fitting it all onto the XBox. The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the XBox's memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we've produced has pushed well beyond it. We've found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it's turned out to be a lot of work, and that's what most of our time is being spent on. In the meantime, we're going to get a code update out to address the server cheating that's going on.

http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=2394

And here are two older reports and messages aswell (one from another site and another straight from the makers of the game)

Owners of the Xbox 360 version of Team Fortress 2 will be scarfing down sandviches and delivering payloads later this year, as Valve is finally bringing all the updates delivered via Steam to the Xbox Live Marketplace. That means new, specific Achievements, new unlockable weapons for the Pyro, Medic and Heavy, new gameplay modes and new maps, all on your Xbox 360.

Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi got that piece of business out of the way just before our latest Left 4 Dead demo, saying that the developer wanted to build up a massive update for Xbox 360 users before delivering. Given that Valve is being forced to charge for the update, they wanted to ensure that 360 owners were getting their money's worth.

So, how much? The price isn't final, but Valve is hoping to go as low as possible, aiming for a ten dollar price tag. Not too shabby. Sorry, PS3 owners, no word on when or if Valve will be giving you the same Team Fortress 2 updates.

http://kotaku.com/5040417/team-fortress-2-updates-coming-to-xbox-360-later-this-year

We are actively working on a massive XBox 360 update, which will include pretty much everything we've shipped on the PC in the last year. We'll provide you with a rough date when we have one.

http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=2096

The first post is the NEWEST one. These last two are ones from awhile ago. I also got an email form someone who works on TF2 after sending an email out and they said that indeed the update is still being worked on but the memory issue is causing the delay. If TF2 was on its own disc or downloadable for 360 the updates could be done by now, but being on the ORange box with so many other games on one disc, there is no more to add on.

Just gotta wait for them to find ways to tweak it and to get ways to get hte updates working on 360.

I personally cant wait for the updates on 360.. I have the gme on both pc and 360 and there are like 15 new weapons, hats, a bunch of new modes and so many new maps. One of the best updates of all time for a game imo.. it totally adds so much to the gameplay.

Damn Kozzy; big font. That's an excellent rundown of what Valve's said regarding this, though. Wasn't there something about them supposing to have an announcement about a 360 update at the end of the (last) year?

TF2 on 360 is a waste of time and no it did not get today's update for the PC version and it will probably never get another update ever.

Once you play the PC version there is just no going back. There are more maps, more gameplay types, unlockable weapons and hats that effect gameplay, and thousands of people playing. I don't see a reason to play it on 360.

I'm aware of all this. I own both versions. There are any number of obvious reasons why someone might prefer the 360 version.

Well, yeah. Anyone who doesn't like the exact same games you like must have psychological issues.

EDIT: GameSpot ate my spaces.

But if you have to pay for update, then how would it work out? Some people get everything improved and will dominate people who didn't buy the update?

I'm not sure unupdated people could even play with updated people. The un-updaters wouldn't have the game assets to do so. Maybe they'd do something like everyone gets the update, but only people who pay get to actually use the new guns.

As far as people "dominating" with the new guns, that's not really the case. For the most part, the new Team Fortress weapons are alternatives, not upgrades.

The only thing that kept TF2 interesting on the 360 for the past year(s) were modded servers.... since Valve only focuses on updating their cash cow games, I've pretty much lost all hope of seeing any TF2 updates for us poor Microsoft Xbox 360 users. The best thing Valve could do is release a standalone TF2 multiplayer game on XBLA for 1200 points that includes every single update/weapons/maps/etc. because this would bring the most exposure to gamers who arent familiar with the greatness of TF2 and would greatly expand the community/longevity of the game in general. I would easily pay $15-20 for TF2 on XBLA with all of the updates, and could careless if the people who own The Orange Box feel shafted they have to pay for a separate game(unless Valve figured a way out to intergrate Orange Box users to play on the same servers as TF2 XBLA users)
