Time To Get A New 360 !!!!!!
This topic is locked from further discussion.
The 65nm processor is indeed going to generate less heat than the 90nm proecssor, but that isn't an indication of not getting RROD ever again. The heatsinks that were added to the new consoles will do a lot more to prevent RROD than just the processor change by itself..
Either way, if your console is currently working, there's hardly any reason to jump and buy the Halo edition..

right i forgot to add it anyway don't forgot that it just 65nm and hitsink to the cpu only cpu
But i heard the problem is soldering and other stuff :? Still i've been waiting for this.......X360PS3AMD05
Yeah but the soldering comes loose because the 360 would get soo hot and the mother board would warp, but nnow we dont have to worry about this. i just traded in my ps3 for a halo 360 and im so glad i did it now lol

Dont you mean anyone who bought a 360 = OWNED
Not really because the ELite is quite recent I have a launch 360 so i dont really care.

Actually it had to do with the amount of heat. The heat from the 90nm CPU caused the mobo to warp and chips to pop. This is what lead to the RROD.

The Elites at least have the heat sink to help with this problem. And the HDMI cable, sweet black finish, and extra 100GB are worth it to me (I have like 70GB left, and I've only had one for a month). I find that having a wide array of demos keeps my game spending down, which in the end leaves me with more cash.
[QUOTE="teebeenz"]Now all you have to do is wait for them to fix the DVD drvie problems, the PSU issues and the noise.thomass60rtrolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
He has a valid point. The only reason keeping me back from a 360 is waiting for a un-****ed version.

I don't really care about noise, aslong as my 360 won't break. Jeez microsoft, I still have a old working n64! I want/expect/demand this thing to last me. (And why shouldn't I)?
Does anyone have a clue when this will be fixed in preium consoles? I think the Halo edition looks like ****, and I don't see why I should payan extra $50 for a color I don't like (What is up with microsoft charging more for certian colors, like for controllers)?
I really want to buy a 360, but I EXPECT it, to not ****ing break! (WHY SHOULDN'T WE?)

Yes, it will fix the current hardware issues. Refer to my previous post for info. Anyways, I'd say to wait a month and they'll have Premiums with the 65nm CPU at stores. Make sure you get a manufacturers date and it should have something by the barcode that reads "Falcon" or hints at it.
