It seems everytime i go to play The Darkness it lags horrible. I am shooting at a guy and they don't die and then i like go back to were i was standing a couple of seconds ago. It seems like it would be fun if it weren't for the lag.:) Is it just me? or does the whole game multiplayer lag?

Not that i am happy its lagging but i am happy its not just me. Hopefully they will get a patch for it soon. It is pretty new so maybe they will update it.

Like all live games i think it just has to do with the host and there connection. The first time that i played, i had the worst lag ever. worse than call of duty 2 when that first came out. When i found a host with a good connection it was like a riding a gravy train withbiscuit wheels. Those little color icons next to the host name tells you how there connection is. Green means all good. Red mean your just waisting your time.

Its the whole game. Thats why I rarely play it and it feels outdated anyways. I love the SP but hate the MP

If it wouldn't lag it would be great. One out of like 7 games didn't lag too bad and i thought it was a lot of fun.

Hosts with crappy IP are part of the problem but the devs are part of the blame too. They create these crappy internet codes for the game that turn out to make internet gaming really laggy. Also the publisher are part of the blame for not setting up non-laggy dedicated servers so you have to stick with user created ones. EA can set up dedicated servers why not other publishers?

The story mode was bad ass. A lot of new innovation to game play. but the multi was a big let down. looks like a crappy version of perfect dark. tisk tisk.

Thought I'd add my complaints to an old thread.

I played the multiplayer last night for the first time (14th January 2008) and the lagging problem is still not fixed.

I'm guessing they don't care enough to fix the problem. They are on to bigger and better lagging games.

Shame really, cause even though its a really really basic multiplayer game it's still fun when its not lagging on you.

The game's been out for a while now and MP has always been horribly laggy. It was just a tack-on to say it had MP, no real effort. Which is a shame cuz the SP is one of the best I've played.

The Multi on the Darkness is laggy most of the time. I find lag on hosted and joined games. Its one of the least optimized multi games on the 360.

back when the darkness first came out i rented it and then beat it. i thought i might try out the multiplayer before i return it and it was one of the laggiest games i've played on live D: and its kinda sad to hear it's still really laggy..i thought they would have come out with a patch or something by now
