Like all live games i think it just has to do with the host and there connection. The first time that i played, i had the worst lag ever. worse than call of duty 2 when that first came out. When i found a host with a good connection it was like a riding a gravy train withbiscuit wheels. Those little color icons next to the host name tells you how there connection is. Green means all good. Red mean your just waisting your time.
If it wouldn't lag it would be great. One out of like 7 games didn't lag too bad and i thought it was a lot of fun.SavageM2Its ok but its out-dated. It feels like Goldeneye for N64.

Hosts with crappy IP are part of the problem but the devs are part of the blame too. They create these crappy internet codes for the game that turn out to make internet gaming really laggy. Also the publisher are part of the blame for not setting up non-laggy dedicated servers so you have to stick with user created ones. EA can set up dedicated servers why not other publishers?

Yeah, thats one of the reasons i love Battlefield 2: Modern combat so much.
The story mode was bad ass. A lot of new innovation to game play. but the multi was a big let down. looks like a crappy version of perfect dark. tisk tisk.
Thought I'd add my complaints to an old thread.
I played the multiplayer last night for the first time (14th January 2008) and the lagging problem is still not fixed.
I'm guessing they don't care enough to fix the problem. They are on to bigger and better lagging games.
Shame really, cause even though its a really really basic multiplayer game it's still fun when its not lagging on you.
