The end all "what games should I buy?" thread

The 360 broad is constantly getting the same questions about what's good on the 360. and a lot of people don't always like what Game Spot rates the game they want. go to http://www.metacritic.com/games/xbox360/scores/. they are associated with game spot some how (I think), and game spot's score is included in the total score the game gets, so you can compare and contrast what game spot gave the game with literally every one else that reviews those games.

There are 75 reviews for Bioshock (total score: 96), that range from 80-100. there are 88 reviews for gears of war (TS: 94), that range from 80-100. There are 90 reviews for Oblivion (TS: 94), from 80-100. and there are 73 reviews for Halo 3 (TS: 94), that range from 70-100 (surprise, surprise, some one gave it 7/10). By sheer volume there has to be one good solid opinion in the pile.

there are 129 games that got a 75/100 or better from all the reviews out there. there are 144 games that scored from 50 to 74. a combined total of 273 games (out of 291 grand total) ranging from mediocre, sub-par, okay, decent titles to awesome games. there has to be something you like some where in there. It's up to YOU to find it, not some guy you don't know on a forum telling you "this game is da bomb!"

lastly what does that say about the games on the system. if only 18 out of 291 scored below a 50, that means only 6% of the games on the system shouldn't be played by any one. The rest not every one is going to like but some niche group will enjoy them.

Even if you don't need help finding games, comment to keep this thread bumped and thus reduce the amount of repeat threads.

Good thinking, so before we see another "what games should I buy?" post, I'll just post here so that it won't get buried under the pages and go unoticed. (hopefully, this will go to the sticky's) By the way, I'm expecting one would literally make a thread in reply to this, if you know what I mean :D

What don't you guys make a Recommendation thread? They have one in the Wii board, be a really thing to have, and even more so around the Holiday season. I know I created a topic a few days ago asking about what holiday bundle to get/some game suggestions.

It's a really good thread. They include a slight overview, divide into genres, and include gamespot score, game rankings score would be a good idea too. I'd do it myself... but I don't own a 360 yet, but as for someone whom is looking into one, I can tell you I'd love it :P and it defintly would clear up the what game threads, like on the Wii board, the mods would just lock them.

Is somebody going to make a new thread for this or are we using this?

What's sad is that as I type this there are two other threads on the first page that both ask "COD4 vs Assassins Creed" I can't help but think at least one of them was created just to piss me off.blue-fish

I RECOMMEND:

Project Gotham Raceing 4. It isn't the biggest game out there I know but I feel it's maybe the best racing experiance on the 360 and a much more solid effort then PGR3. Lots of tracks, tons of cars, amazing graphics (yes, better then Forza, more interesting at the very least) and a careers syetem that some might have a problem with but is a new twist on racing career modes which are kinda by-the-book.

Orange Box. Half-Life, more Half-Life, still more Half Life, cookie and smart onlin and PORTAL. One of the most interesting puzzle games of the last 20 years. Need I say more?

DEAD RISING. The save system is just fine, people who complain about it are either dumb or just very very lazy. It is not a brainless hack-and-slash but a refined open ended action game like no other. A good story really propells the action and never lets you get bored, helped by solid voice acting and well defined characters. In a mallfull of freakin' zombies! If you haven't given this one a chance please do so.

And GRIM FANDANGO. Hands down the best point and click adventure ever as well as one of the most styleish, clever and inventive games ever made. It costs about nothing, go get it now.

FPS/Shooter:

4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Tactical/Shooter:

1. Rainbow Six: Vegas
2. Graw 1/2

J-RPG:

1. Eternal Sonata - JRPG
2. Blue Dragon - JRPG

Non-released:

1. Assassin's Creed
2. Mass Effect

And what I'm currently playing right now:

1. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock - Unless you don't plan on spending extra bucks for the wireless guitar.
