I am getting the 360, but havn't decided the type.

I have searched the forums and everyone says the same thing, if you are downloading lots of movie, trailers, etc, you should get the elite and if not, the Pro is fine. There are a million topics of this and I was hoping to make one final good topic that deals with this.

In order to settle this, could someone please give me the actual facts:

For someone with only game data, please say how many game files you have saved and how much space has been taken up (please specify if you have deleted the preloaded stuff)

The same goes with someone who has game saves and DLC, please specify what you havedownloaded, how much space it takes up, the number of game saves, etc.

Allright, I only use my 360 for games. I don't do the whole movie rental thing. I do download some game videos and demos, but I normally don't keep them very long. I own 12 arcade games, have both map packs for Vegas as well as both map packs for PDZ and one of the two map packs for gears. That being said, I currently have 9.8 Gb free on my 20 Gb hard drive. So unless youplan on putting a lot of music onto your hard drive, I doubt that you'll really need the 120 Gb hard drive. The only thing is if they ever implement the IPTV service which would allow your xbox to function like a tivo.

Individual game saves usually take up very little space (less than 1MB), and arcade games can be up to 150 MB, but most are around 50. Some of the DLC can be pretty hefty (the 2 vegas map packs together take up 1.4Gb), but I think that those are two of the bigger downloads that have been released. Hope this helped.

20 gigs is plenty unless you plan on downloadng a LOT of movies and music. If you are though, the elites are a relatively reasonable price now, so go for it.

I've deleted all of the preloaded content, other than games, and all of the music. But I have about 20-30 videos of varying lengths, plus all of my game data and downloads for games, including the whopping Shivering Isles for Oblivion (plus all the other Oblivion DLC). I also have about four demos on my hard drive. And with all of that, and owning my 360 for one and a half years I still have about 4GB, give or take, out of 20 to spare at all times. The 20 is MORE than enough for casual gaming and downloading.

I have had my 360 hard drive (not I didn't say 360 because I have had 3 of them) since launch and the lowest I have ever been was 5 gigs. I have TONS of music on my 360. Upwards of 60 full CD's on there. I download trailers a lot but I just delete those when I don't need them. Same goes for demos. I have game saves from launch on there but I usually go through and delete any saves from games I don't play. I also have DLC from Gears, Rainbow Six, GRAW, and GH2. I also have about 10 full arcade games. You really can get by with a 20 gig as long as you are smart enough to delete the stuff you quit using. I mean, if you never delete old game saves from games you will never touch again, yeah it will get full. But if you just get rid of the stuff you don't use then you will always be around 7-10 gigs which is plenty.

Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have an estimated amount of gamefiles you can save onthe hdd with maybe a few DLCs and trailers, but notfull movies or anything like that?
