The games in america are much cheaper than in Canada. When will the prices drop?

In America they sell Lost oddysey and Last Remnant and some other games with a lower price. Here in Canada ebgames sell them for 60 bucks. Can someone explain this? If you have worked at gamestop or ebgames in the past.... when will the prices of canadian games drop?? the american games charge much less.

It's all based on the economy... Canada's dollar is tanking at the moment, so prices are being raised. It's gonna be a while before CAD catches up to USD.

Oh wow seriously?! I am not buying a 60 bucks game. It's not worth it but Final Fantasy 13 is worth it...

Canada isn't the only country getting a worse deal - everywhere outside the US gets charged a higher price for new games

First, you should stop complaining about economics that you have no control over and second, you should try harder. I checked the Gamestop website and sure enought they are selling The Last Remnant for $39.99, so then I head over to Best Buy's Canadian site and low and behold The Last Remnant is $39.99. Lost Odyssey however is still $59.99, like most new games.

Given the exchange rate we actually pay less for most games than Americans do. A $59.99 US game should be around $75 CDN and at most we are ask to pay $69.99 for a game. But most games are actually sold at $59.99 CDN or about $48 US. So until the CDN dollar strengthens expect to pay more for new game releases. I found Lost Odyssey for 29.99 used and as the guy above said the other recent Square RPGs are both now $39.99 new.
