I was on Xbox LIVE yesterday playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. It was a team of 3 not including myself. As we start on the map I hear two of my teammates cussing eachother out. They must have been around 18-20 and they were annoying the heck out of my coopertive teammate. They finally got to the point where I left. Shockingly, the next day, they were both on, in the same game, talking stuff to another again in the lobby. So I asked them politely to shut up. They cursed me out and everyone started hating on me saying things like "ian't it your bedtime toddler?" and stop getting him angry he might have a random tempertantrum in a walmart". Stupid things like that. My question is, how come people criticize us when it are the adults who are hyping up this crap? There may be alot of annoyin 12 year olds on xbox LIVE but there are more immature adults on the whole Xbox LIVE.

Well if I remember the "T" rating is for Teen and not Twelve. The view point of a 20 year old and a 14 year old are extremely different. There is even noticable differences between 18 year olds and 20 year olds.
Honestly I can't defend either you or the guys you play with. When you join up on Xbox Live there is a reason ERSB always has a disclaimer saying "Online interactions are not rated"

I myself am 20. If there is a a younger person playing a "T" or and "M" game I will respect them until they start creating a problem.

This. The dirty little secret is, adults really aren't that much more mature than younger people - they just need somebody to blame. It comes down to the person themself and if they are mature, and really that isn't easy to gauge. But if they are cussing and arguing and treating a young kid like crap, then that just goes to show you they really haven't grown up much.
There are many jerks in the world from many age groups, I wont even play with random people on Live anymore, i will only play with people on my friends list, and if any of them talk crap to me, off they go.

Exactly I can't stand kids when they argue with each other their humor is just lame, it's very hard to understand them, when they start arguing they start screeching like bats, and etc. I had some kid talking about sperm whales and "sea men" as a joke. What how is that funny? So far I am finding kids to be way more annoying even though I have only been insulted by older people so far. Although I just kick their *** and they run away so it's not annoying.
I've been on xbox live with with teens, and as annoying as high pitched voices go, the main problem is that they generally talk A LOT.
And with the older people playing that feel the need to exert their ego's and talk trash, well just because they are older has nothing to do with their mental age. They main problem with them is that they talk A LOT.
But for most of the time everyone is ok. The most common bad social behaviour i've witnessed has been on GTA4 and Gears of War.
lol @ toddler... screw them man...I remeber playing Cod4 on ps3 online, and everyone's so annoying,i could hear them but i didnt have a mike, i can hear them cursing me when i kill them, lol....but sometimes i just turn voice completely off, makes my connection better ;)
This is why they invented the "mute" option. Most games allow you to mute players with little difficulty, sometimes even in-game. So don't hesitate to use it if there are some idiots playing with you. But yeah, I get annoyed too sometimes, especially when people think they're sooooo manly because they can beat me in COD4. I'm like "whatever, I don't play the game every single day of my life, and I'm almost as good as you are."
funny you should say that, I almost never get people cussing me out anymore. They're always in parties. A year ago I was in your shoes, except I would argue back. Now, it's dead silence pretty much no matter what game I enter.

When you go into highschool your voice has changed, and then when your 15 you start to grow facial hair (This is again for most people) some develop later, but thats only a handful. Your 14 when you go into highschool. I know kids who have facial hair and deeper voices then me and they are 13.

As a male culture, we tend to rip on people for little to no reason. If people are behaving like idiots then its just best to mute them or don't play with them at all. There is always one guy in a room who tries to talk some sense into the moronic and that person is picked on the entire time he remains in the room. As long as they are not team killing, cheating, or trying to screw you over then just hit the good old mute button and then its like their crappy personalities don't even exist.
People are just annoying, regardless of age. Kids don't bother me because we were all there at one point or another. 14 isn't that far from 18 anyway._Doomsayer_

Here's a little bit of wisdom for you: Being over 18 doesn't make you an "adult." I've encountered plenty of immature older people. I'm 21 myself but I don't act like a total d-bag online like a lot of other people do.
If you honestly need to rant about it on gamespot forums because you ARE a lil baby still...then maybe online gaming IS too much for you. There are jerks everywhere, everyone talks to **** to everyone and if you cna't take it and need to complain about it on forums, just like all the other 12 year olds, then you should quit now.
