Don't get me wrong... GTA IV was a really good game... but not as good as people were making it out to be.
Reviewers were making it out to be better then any game we have known to date... just not the case for me.
A lot of people say COD 4?
Well, the campaign mode did suck yes but the on-line doesn't half make up for that!
Dead Rising. IIJuggaNottII
I agree that sucked big time, also Bioshock was quite overrated the setting, atmosphere and the whole idea of the game was good but the gameplay was kind of boring after a while
CoD4, I used to say Halo, but at least Halo had a worthwhile campaign.
CoD4 is nothing but a multiplayer template that gets old after a month.
*turns up flame shield* Gears of Wars
all I can say, in my opinion campaign was way too short and it had lackluster multi
Whats really sad is when you get on Halo 3 and see people with high ranks who havent even started the single player game!Raok
Well in the case of other games, *Cough* Battlefield *Cough* CoD4 ... Sometimes it's barely even worth it. Halo's wasn't too bad though.
I'd say Bioshockstuartcee
I'd have to agree, it was too short, and it was pretty repetitive in some areas. It was good, but it didn't deserve the reviews it got.
I would say Ninja Gaiden 2 since it's the same game as the first one and not rewarding at all...
Also I can't stand Guitar Hero so that one is overrated to me...
Any and all Madden games are overrated...
I do think Call of Duty 4 is overrated, but not the most by any means...
I dont think any 360 games are really overrated at the momment but Final Fantasy 7 and Ocerina of Time are quite possibly the defenition of overrated.draftrough
Zelda was overrated? o_O That game was "da bomb" back in the day.
I could never get into Dead Rising. For all its rave reviews i wanted to use it as a projectile on unsuspecting innocents.
Assasins Creed, no question about it
Yeah, GTAIV is FAR from that-of-a-masterpiece and the best game ever made. A darn good game, but not godlike.
But hey! Bioshock?! THAT'S a good game!
Bioshock is way overrated. Not fun at all.
GTA is overrated aswell but i would still give it a 9.5 so not that bad.
1) IMO Call of Duty 4 was a really good game, I play a lot of fps, I used to be a pc gamer but can't afford to keep my rig up to date now. I have been a fan of the call of duty games since playing the first one on the pc, and this was the only non-pc one I played. I felt that it deserved the score that it did because it was able to deliver the same solid fps action that the old ones did (if you played the old ones you should have had an idea of what to expect) with a modern day theme and implemented a bullet penetration system worked really well. Even the bullet penetration was not very accurate, like when shooting through walls that look like they are made of solid concrete and brick, but are apparently plaster, making you think there isn't a single piece of concrete in the game world. If compared to similar fps games, COD4 did deserve the high scores that it got, if you didn't like the game, it's not because the game sucked, rather it was because it didn't deliver the type of gameplay you enjoy. For example just because you don't think this is as fun as halo or some other fps, you can't directly compare the two game because they are so different.
2) GTA IV definitely did not deserve a perfect 10, although it was still an amazing game. With the introduction of the new generation of consoles, Rockstar decided to take their franchise into a new direction. Instead of delivering the same over the top action and having a story for the sole purpose of linking missions together, although if you watched the special edition intro to San Andreas you would know some thought was actually put into the story. Now Saints Row has become what the old GTA was and rockstar has made a much more realistic GTA. But with this decision it just seems that the fun factor which the old GTAs had just isn't there anymore. With the old GTAs it felt as though the world was your play ground where you could do anything you wanted, now the city seems to have a bit more control over you. I think that rockstar was trying to deliver the same experience as the game "MAFIA" did, which was an AMAZING game. Mafia delivered an amazing story with solid gameplay in a somewhat open world game leaving you wanting more, if anyone here played it you know what I'm trying to say here. But as GTA tried to incorporate some of the open world freedom from the older games with its new change in direction (like MAFIA), it kind of felt like a compromise between the two.
Gears of War. I'm psyched for the 2nd one and I did like the first one...but a campaign that short is simply not worthy of the kind of cash it raked in.
GTA IV, Bioshock, and Assassin's Creed get honorable (or dishonorable?) mention though.
