The new Elite is soooo quiet...

So I sold my 20gb 360 for $200 and decided to pick up the RE5 Elite bundle. My new Elite cuts about 50% of the noise that my old 360 made. It makes such a huge difference. Before I had to crank the volume, but now, it's no problem! I just thought I would share my experience and see if anyone else has noticed similar improvements with any new 360s they may have.

same here, my first pro RROD'ed so i picked up an arcade.....the damn thing sounded like an airplane! So 2 months ago i decided to pick up an elite and it makes no noise, its great.

where'd u sell ur 20gb console for 200$? I might think about getting an elite too if I can sell mine :D

I have one of the newer 60gig's and it is much quieter than my old 20. I'm sure ts because it runs cooler.

I sold it on Craigslist. For $200, here is what I gave the guy:

Xbox 360 Pro (original box and manuals, 2 faceplates, and 6 months warranty left)

20 GB Hard Drive

2 wireless controllers

1 wired mic

PGR4 Racing

I have one of the newer 60gig's and it is much quieter than my old 20. I'm sure ts because it runs cooler.

Not to rain on your parade but your old machine must had a lot of dust or something in it. My 360 starts being loud I just blow it ouw with some can duster and it starts bein quiet again. Give it some time and it'll start being loud again.

Dang man. I got my Xbox 360 elite since christmas of 2007 and it still runs quietly, same with my little brothers elite. I like it that way.

Trust me, there is no raining on my parade. My machine was noisy since Day 1. I purchased it in August of 2008 and it was always loud. I checked blogs, asked around, and it is fairly common for loud 360s to be hanging around.

It had nothing to do with dust my friend...
