[QUOTE="Xero319"]People who say "I already pay for Xbox Live, why should I have to pay for DLC" are complete village idiots. Xbox Live has NOTHING to do with the new maps. Thats the same as people saying I already pay for my ISP, why should I have to pay for Xbox Live. Yeah we all payed for the game once, and what came with the original game is what we paid for. Do you think Epic just doesnt pay their employees to work on DLC? If you dont want to pay for it thats one thing, just dont play the new maps, but it is pretty ridiculous, not to mention almost childish to expect them for free. Yes I know Epic said their DLC would be free, but who cares, its not their fault, and its not really that big of a deal anyways. People have no problem dropping like $500 on the system itself and then paying $60 for a game, but when DLC is $10 people freak out. Its simple, if you dont want to part with your precious $10 that you have been saving for 4 months from your allowance, then dont, just wait until their free. Some peoples logic is absolutely amazing.DaveGray
Obviously, you don't understand the situation. Epic made the content. Epic is GIVING it to us. It's Microsoft that is forcing the $10 charge. Micosoft's job is to distribute the content. ...and I already pay $50 a year for the XBOX Live Gold service (which entitles me to distribution.
The reason that we're getting charged is that so other companies can charge, as well....without having people say "What about Gears?"
Anyone who calls this "whining" just doesn't understand me. I wipe my crack with 10 bucks. It's not the money. We are at a turning point in video game history. Right now, we are deciding what will be acceptable and what will not in the realm of downloadable content. And companies (not just MS) will go as far as the possibly can. It's the nature of business. But we have to say "no" eventually. When the content is allegedly free to begin with, then is later tagged a $10 fee for no apparent reason, that seems like a good place to start putting my foot down.
It's not like MS and Epic don't get anything from giving away content, by the way. It keeps these games from getting re-sold back to stores, and drives more interest in the console. The best way for video game companies to fight re-sale is to make long lasting games. ...not to mention brand loyalty and customer good will. Epic is trying to do that, as a long term business decision.

Your speech has swayed me at first i was unsure about buying the maps or not, now Ive decided that I'm not willing to give Microsoft my money when i shouldn't have to. I wouldn't mind paying if EPIC wanted to charge for it and would happily buy them without a thought.
