The new GeOW maps are amazing. Totally worth 800 points.

These maps are absolutely GORGEOUS, and they are all really big maps, atleast as big or bigger than the originals, plus theres more to the map then obstruction, cover and beauty, you can interact with the map, with the whole greenhouse mist and turning it off, and shutting down generators to unleash the kryll.

For those out there who arn't sure if they want to purchase it all Im gonna say is that these maps are really very fun and again, they are gorgeous looking maps, and it doesnt shrink the pool of players at all, its been out for a few hours and I havnt had trouble finding a match full of players.

unfortunately, you will have to go for 3 months of searching over and over just to find a good long game to play.  Epic should have atleast made a filter in the search feature so that you can play with people who have the same maps as you (like GRAW).

For you maybe.  Everyone that I play with has plans to buy the maps immediately.  So we won't have any problem getting a game.

I agree, these maps are great. The Garden and the little Greenhouse that houses the sniper rifle is infested with toxic pesticide spray and you need to turn 3 switches to turn it off. It is a great map. It sorta gives you the Clocktower feel. It really looks like a lot of time was put into these maps which makes it worth the money. Also the Subway is relatively small but it is a great simple map. Bullet Marsh is chaotic because its so dark and there are a ton of hiding spots. Process is meh.

Anyone who wont buy these maps for three months just because they come at a price of 2.50 each is being stupid.  These maps look amazing, and they are fun.  But go ahead...there are plenty of people who have enough common sense to pay for it since its worth it so I wont have any problems finding people to play with.  EVeryone else who is too cheap to buy them will get them for free in 3 months by which time most people will be tired of those maps.  Have fun waiting!

you are, as well as everyone else who says "not paying for these maps is stupid" missing the point about the whole issue.  Microsoft is in essence "Taxing" us for these maps, NOT EPIC who disputed with Microsoft about wanting these maps to be free to anyone who owns the game. Microsoft, the same people we are paying $50 a year for a gold subscription to play games online against other people.

If a company (such as Epic) wants to release their maps FREE to the public WHY does Microsoft have to butt in and deny them being free and tell them "you must charge x amount of dollars". They are already squeezing money out of us every year which I don't dispute, it is the content king out of all three services (even though personally i don't need half the crap on it anyways), but then again online gaming is free on PC(excluding MMORPGs), PS3 and Wii.  But to deny a company from releasing their maps for free to owners of the game, by taxing us for something that should be free by the developers word, thats pure greed in my eyes.  probably because their entertainment division is losing money. i guess that makes sense.

People say it costs 800 pts for 4 maps.  Well I look at it this way... I have paid 800pts and from that time I have gotten 6 maps and a brand new game mode called Annex.  That definitely is worth the 800 pts.

Umm....I know one BIG reason.  Microsoft is the publisher on this game.  So ....it's really their game not Epics.  They can do what they want with it since they ponied up all the cash for it to be made.

Well maybe people are more concerned about having fun than the business methods of microsoft? I'll be playing these maps the whole summer, in which i have no school, yet people who are worried about the "bigger" issue will be depriving themselves just to make a statement. Loosen up and have a little fun.

Like hell am i paying 800 points for 4 stupid maps. I'd rather pay it out on Vegas, you know the game giving away several new game modes and maps for the same price as those 4 maps.

 It's a rip off. And i actually prefer gears of war over R6V but i'm not going to be ripped of, especially not when Epic wanted it to be free. It's sadning people are buying it, all your doing is setting a trend and showing MS that they can force these things on game developers and that you have no real wall where enough is enough.

Not having ago, totally your choice to buy these things or not but i believe people will be regreting it in the future when things get really out of hand, there going to keep pushing till people say enough.

You haven't played the maps yet you are calling them stupid. The problem of today is ignorance.

I think I'll pass for now, I got sick of gears and new maps probably won't change that(and I'm not going to pay $10 just to find out).  It's nice to hear good reviews though, the last map pack wasn't too good.  However if I suddenly decide to start playing gears again then I might get it, or I'll wait till it's free.

Also I'd just like to know why everyone feels the need to put eachother down over this.  Some people feel the maps are worth it and some don't.  There's no right or wrong, it's just an opinion regarding maps in a videogame.  Maybe I shouldn't get all worked up over this but it seems like people need to grow up a bit.
