I would like to see BluRay on the next console, but I am guessing by the time it comes out BluRay will pretty much be the new standard. Unless they go crazy and come up with some sort of super flash drive.

I don't see why it couldn't be a type of flash media. Think about it, loading times would be shorter, the actual Xbox will be smaller since it won't have to fit a optical drive which would also save on heat and power usage. And since it won't be years until the next gen, who knows what tech will be out.

if it doesnt then im not buying it and many publishers wont be able to make games for it cause they will be adding bigger things that would need more space

Simple reason. Plastic Disc is only how much? What flash media provides can be replaced by existing Game Install and XBL Game Download.

also easy ways people to download them and mod them and all kinds of stuff. They could make them downloadable

If it didn't use a Bluray Disc or some sort of full-sized disc, people would only be able to play games on there... no listening to cd's or watching movies, and adding an unnecessary disc drive to the console would just add to the production cost. The absence of the ability to watch movies or listen to cd's attributed greatly to the epic fail that was called.... oh what was it again?... oh yeah now i remember, it was called GameCube.

Yeah, these words are true. But I suppose that a Blu-Ray drive is possible. Wait a while.
