The Official -New 3 Year Warrenty- Thread

Well here it is guys. Micorsoft has announced that it is extending it's warrenty from 1 year to 3 years.

For me this is great, as mine has failed once already (in 4 months).

Chat it up guys i want to know what you all think.

I think it's great news but was wondering about something. If you need to send it in for repair, will you need proof of purchase like a receipt?SirMonotone

uh no, they determine how old it is by checking the serial number on the console. This way they know how many years you've had it for and if you qualify for a free fix-up.

Ive been a loyal fan since i got my first 360 in April of 2006

I lost my first 360 in November for the 3 rings and had to pay. I was soo pissed!!

Then i got my second and it died on me in May of 07. And i had to pay half of the original price.

When i got my 3rd one it died less than 2 months later.

My parents tell me to give up on it but im sticking with it.

Im soo glad they're doing this.

Really, there are so many threads on this. We don't need another one. We're all very happy, and it'll certainly boost sales, but there's no need to start a new thread.SpigleyMcCheese

Beside the fact that its all over the web and in the newspapers its also listed on the home page here on GS. Now on the to the new 3 year warranty, they could give me a 10 year warranty I would still want a reliable console. I don't want to spend the next 3 years sending my console for repairs every 3 to 6 months. They have stated that I guess new parts or extra parts are to be installed in all repaired & refurbished consoles & they have had mine for 3 weeks now so until I get it back and try it again I still stand very unsatisfied.
