Weird case actually, just the other night my 360 got those three horrible lights. I really didn't waste anytime at that point. I took out the game, unplugged the controller, and turned off the console. I gave it five minutes, and it worked perfectly. I was curious if anyone else had this problem, cause it seemed odd.

Too boot, 360 in a sheld thats about 3 feet wide, and about a foot and a half from front to back. Plenty of room, since the console is placed in there by itself. The power block is set behind the entertainment center, a good foot away from any other power wides and such. No carpet, my bedroom floor is hardwood.

I had the same problem a week after I got my 360 back from being repaired. Shut it off for about 20 minutes and it worked fine... for a week. Then it just kept getting the 3 red lights. I'd probably call MS anyways, most likely if it got them once your gonna get them again permanently.

Happened to me probably...a month or two ago. Was playing oblivion and there was a power surge. Saw the lights, feared for the worst. Turned it off and stood by it's side for a little while. Turned it back on and voila, never had a problem again.

I would send it if I were you. When I had mine, I got the lights, turn it off, then they dissapeared. But later burned a movie I used so I recommend sending it before it kills one of your games

I have the Gamestop warranty, and I wanted to know if that alone was enough to warrant me taking it back and exchanging it, or do I have to wait until it dies a slow and painful death. Answers are appreciated!

Well if you have a warranty through Gamestop, you could probably just wait til it completely dies. Or you could bring it in right away and not take any chances, it's really up to you I suppose.

If you simply start the 360 without the video cable in you'll get the 3 red lights...

Yeah, I've heard that... But everything was plugged in and working great... Until the lights. At least after that I haven't had anymore issues. Yet...

It might have overheated depending on how long the machine had been on and/or how warm your room was temp. wise

Don't think that is a good sign.  I actually had the three rings for the first time about a 1 1/2 months ago.  Turned it off and back on a little later and it worked fine.  Since then, almost every time that I start the game up, I would get the E67 error code with one ring flashing, but then it would work after about the third try.  Then the other night, The whole console shut down while play gears with the three rings flashing again.  Now, it seems to be working again.  We'll see, I think it's on its last leg.  Not bad though, it is a launch console and it already lasted longer than both Xboxs I owned.

I'm not that sure it was overheating, though it isn't exactly out of the question...

It is still cold over here, and the heating in my room sucks. So sometimes I have to put on a space heater, though I really doubt that would be doing it. Its like 5 feet away from myself, and I'm a good four from my console... Could it really have caused the problem?

It looks like I'll have to play with one freakin' window open now. Hoorah!

The solid ring of red lights is an AV error. I saw it one Christmas morning, because the AV cable was set onto HD. I saw red lights in my 360, and have read all the horror stories, I almost crapped my pants. Then I fixed it and it was cool, but it took off like 10 years from my life

Same happened to me about 4 months ago when I got the red lights and never seen them. Until recently my games started to freeze alot and the Rings came back! My 360 is being serviced and to be honest the Red Lights are a bad sign.
