The update of the Xbox 360 hits secretly pirates?

As reported today by Engadget, the recent small update released by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 system software actually seems to be targeted to hit the pirates.

Released without much fanfare as a small update, mostly to the start of the games direct to disk, for a total of 7 MB in size of the package, the update was a surprise side effects. Users who have pirated copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in particular, have not been able to get them to work after the update.

Downloading new games is lame anyway... Developers of certain games deserve the money, really.

I like that they didn't make a big deal about it.

Nope, they just ban the Xbox, so it can no longer connect to Live.
