Anyone else agree with me? Pretty glad i rented it. Got to about half way through the second chapter and just couldn't carry on! What is everyone seeing in this game?

No, just no.
The Witcher 2 is a fantastic RPG & actually has something to offer gaming.
You want to play a real boring game..... play Max Payne 3.
I actually made the mistake of BUYING it because I heard all the praise and man was I disappointed. It's an okay game, pretty formulaic western RPG but it's nothing special. Visuals are decent, voice acting's okay, and combat is very general except there's a few annoyances. I really didn't understand the praise. I sold it on craigslist, too many other games on my queue to go through that one.
Glad it's not just me been crazy! Glad i rented it, only annoyance is I hate to leave a game uncompleted so i'll probably see it through! :PI actually made the mistake of BUYING it because I heard all the praise and man was I disappointed. Why I must agree The Witcher is Far From Boring , I have to disagree Max Payne has a amazing high octane Campaign and decent multiplayer .No, just no.

The Witcher 2 is amazing!!! loved it all, bit slow at start i agree and i got lost more times than i care to admit but absolutely enthralling, sofisticated and well written (rare in modern games)
Honestly? I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i just dont see it on this one. The witcher is a VERY good game, it was so good i actually bought the first one on Steam for 9.99 and even the first one is enjoyable. i think the prison stage is frustrating but once you get through it the game itself is rewarding through it's story, character leveling, and combat.
Normally I'm a huge fan of fantasy RPGs but The Witcher 2 just did not do it for me. I bought it after hearing all the hype about it last year, and I was admittedly excited to play it at first. Having gotten into the game now, though, I just don't enjoy it that much. I don't really care about the characters or the world, which is a big issue for me, as those are two major attractions of RPGs.
Skyrim gets bashed for being shallower than RPGs like TW2, but the world in the game is second to none. The Witcher 2 just seems average to me in all regards.

I'm on the first town you visit after escaping prison... and got really bored. The game is ok but not enough to keep me playing it.
It's a shame as I was really looking forward to this :S
[QUOTE="SkinnyJeans1995"]It is a completely enthralling game with excellent narrativeDJ_LaeYeah, and one that actually treats the gamer like an adult, which is a nice change from most games. It's a game that actually respects the audience. There should be more of them. Would be nice if there were games that did this that weren't RPG's
The Witcher 2 is not boring at all! I mean, maybe if you hate paying attention to some story going on, you'd find it boring. But the gameplay, story, graphics and characters are all pretty top notch. And some missions are funny as hell depending on the choices you pick.

I dunno though, to each their own.
I bought The Witcher 2 about 3 months ago and probably only played about three hours total. I don't want to completely write off the game, but it hasn't done well in holding my interest. I do find the story to be interesting so far, but haven't felt committed to put more time into the game. I may boot it up today to try again.
