Ok, so we read a lot of complaints about how everybody's box is burning up or just quitting on them.

Here's a an idea of mine. Let's start a thread about how flawless your Xbox has been running. How long it's been on playing a game the longest, how long it's been on total and what flaws you've heard other people about but never experienced yourself !

Got mine about 2 weeks and had one on loan from a friend for about 3 months. Played Gears of War 13 hours straight, my friends machine's probably seen 500 hours of play in 6 months, never had heat problems, never had a freeze, never had a red lights in any combination turn on, 360 never scratched a game of mine (read that a lot too).

mines is find to the only reason peoples games  have scracthes is because they move it while they play a game and when that happens it is  going to scratch

Mines fine as well. It did freeze once but my room was burning hot, don't blame it =).

Other than that though, it's been perfectly fine.

Mine works fine with only one hiccup. Every 3rd time or so I boot up I get one red light in the bottom right quadrent with the error code E-68 which is a hardware error pertaining to the hard drive. I turn it off and wait, turn it back on and it's fine. I got my xbox 360 back in August and this has been going on since the middle of November.

The point is, it should run with no problems my friend, but it is no secret that there is major overheating issues.I only say this because I am on my 5th repair job on the 2 consoles I own.I love the 360 though, and i will stick it through the good with the bad,and the ugly..

And thisfor you means it is working FINE?  It has had this problem after less then 6 months that you owned it .This thread is dumb and so is fanboysm... Won;t bee long before some of you geniuses will have a thread up crying cause their Xbpox broke.

I love my Xbox 360 but i refuse to be dumb as of saying that a problem does not exist when it is evident it does GROW UP

the fact that u do not have a problem does not mean it does not exist

My launch 360 just broke yesterday. It has probably seen over 3000 hours of gameplay though (I play A LOT). Luckily I still have a warranty.

I didn't say the 360 has no problems, i'm just saying not ALL 360's have the overheating defect. I'm just curious as to how many people also have never had any heating problems with the 360

Mine works pretty much perfectly. It scared me a few times while playing Burnout Revenge as the disc drive would abruptly stop and start again, but it seems to only be that game.

Ugh, I mean I really wish you'd stop posting pictures of Cher around here. I respect the fact that you've got the right to like whatever you want to like, but that's a horrid image to inflict on the rest of us. Not trying to flame... no hate intended here... but honestly.

That being said, most people's 360s do not break. If you've got an IQ over 75 you probably know this. I don't see the point of this thread other than to play to the lowest common denominator. Be it known that Gamespot also has a tendency to lock these threads.

I purchased mine on 12/22/05 and its still running strong.  But nearly all of my friends that own one has had it die.  One thing that I do is never move mine.  I've only moved it once a tad to connect the HD-DVD player but that's it.  It has plenty of room to breath and is in a secure area.  I don't know if that makes a difference, but my friends didn't have there's in a similar setting.

But ......... I personally hope it dies after the the Elite comes out.  I have the Best Buy warranty and I'll be able to upgrade.  It'd be perfect ...... well, once I figure out what to do about the hard drive saves ....

Had mine for over a year. Never had red lights, never returned, never had any significant problems at all. Right after Gears came out, there were days when I played all day, 8 or so hours at a time (with breaks for food, bathroom, etc.). I can't help but think that some of the broken 360 posts are complete falsehoods.

My 360 is an amazing machine. I had red rings once, turned it off and on again and haven't had a problem since. it is a smooth runner. the only problem I think it has is not enough games on it, but that is really my fault. the 360 may have problems but some of it may be the user, that is my opinion of course.

My is working great, although one time 3 red lights came on and my mouth drpped. I then turned off the 360 and watch some tv for like an hour. Then later turned it back on and then it started working again.

Before I continue first this :

1. It is obvious that the xbox 360 has heating problems ; not áll of them, but certainly enough to be noticed as a problem

2. It being necesarry for a xbox 360 ánd its powerunit to sit completly free in open space, with a lot of room and ventilation is not reasonable. It is also unreasonable that even the slightest movement (unintentionaly) of a running xobx could damage it or the game. In other words : a console should be designed to bee used at home in an average manner, not only work in near laboratory conditions.

Tat said, i've noticed from the reactions on this post that a lot of people who do not have trouble with their xbox, truly keep everything extremely ventilated and.. "spacey" or "roomy" ( pardon my Englidh, it's not my native tongue so to speak)

Let the flaming comence......

Wait, so me leaving my 360 under my TV stand with the rest of my electronic components and not moving it (which I also don't do with the rest of my components) is unreasonable????  :?
