So I had a RrOD 360, and I was planning on calling today, so last night I grabbed a couple towels, and tried the trick.

To my surprise it WORKED!

I'm wondering how long it will last and if I can do it multiple times? I dont want to have it break in 3 months leaving me 360-less for Halo 3 and Mass Effect.

I presonally, will probably just turn it in to get a sure, long lasting fix.

But I might try it.

Not long. You should probably still send it in now so you'll have it back in time for the fall titles.

Send it in as soon as it starts acting up again, because the towel fix won't last you long. It only worked for me for a day.

Has anyone tried hitting it with their hands and turning it off then back on 2 minutes later and worked? I tried it 2 months ago when my system 3 lighted me (for the first time other times were 1 red in bottom right corner) and it worked! Just a heads up

Well I cant just send it in if it's working....unless theres a way to GIVE it the RrOD?

Maybe try wrapping it up and turning it on til it overheats? I dont know...

I'm sorry to say, but I don't think these are viable solutions. The towel trick could easily mess other things up that arn't covered in your warrenty, and it's probably never a good idea to hit electronics.

dont worry about it , it will get the 3rlod again sooner or later , theres a major solution for it and people tried it , but its useless now with the new warranty so play normally till you get your lights of death , after that send it the towel trick dont last long as most of people said.

Should I try wrapping it back up and turning it on, and leaving it on til it get RrOD'd?

Or just wait? I fear that if I wait and it bricks again in August/September i'll miss a couple big games.

I don't mean hit them like your laying down the smackdown on its candy a$$ but i meant a slight tap lie with one hand and just loud enough to hear the system "vibrate" (theres no term I know of thats better than that) a little. I mean the system is "broke" so you might as well try it. It worked for me and a friend.
