I actually think Halo was originally going to be T. I remeber watching a comercial at Blockbuster and sure eough it was rated T. But when they released....it was M

Uh, why not? Plenty of series have changed ESRB ratings over time. Splinter Cell and now Call of Duty are just a couple of examples.

I actually have one of the first Halo boxart releases and even on that its rated M for Mature. If you also took a close look at that site, you would notice it says "ESRB Rating: Mature" and this concludes that the boxart on their site is incorrect.
