Things you have learnt from FPSs

What might you have learnt from playing FPSs?

First thing that comes to my mind:

-If a level seems too easy to be true, it's not
-Everyone is very adept at picking things up with their feet
-Health kits can heal gaping holes left in your chest from rocket launchers
-Your gun never misfires or jams, even when underwater
-You don't have legs.
-To get a perfectly static sniper, all you have to do is breathe in

Your turn

Even if you get shot you can crawl away and someone can pick you up and you'll be fine.

A man can carry 20 huge weapons and thousands of rounds of ammo somewhere on themself..Use your imagination.

Using cheats will provide you tanks that come out from the sky. Hence god's really a video game program and praying/using cheats will provide great benefits such as tanks.

Let's see what I can come up with here:

• Violence solves everything.

Ooo...now I sound like a hippie. Here's some better ones:

• Pistols are hyper-accurate, sometimes over any distance.
• Until recently, enemies tended to engage you standing straight up, even when you could go prone.
• When severely injured, you get blood in your eyes, but it goes away quickly.
• I can double jump if I just put my mind to it.
• Firing a rocket at my feet will propel me a hundred feet in the air, and not kill me.
• Circle strafing: It works.
• Until about ten years ago, enemies tended not to care when their buddy right next to them was shot in the head.
• I can hold my weapon at the ready for hours, without my arms ever getting tired.
• First aid is a simple process of locating a green button, and pressing it.
• I can run backwards very, very fast, without every falling down.

I have no feet but make the sound of footsteps as I move

I can carry an inhuman amount of guns and ammo

Standing on bandages heals me

Standing on food heals me

Running into walls finds hidden areas

If I'm set on fire and stand still it will go out in a few seconds

The batteries in flashlights only last for 10 seconds before running flat

Guns carry just enough ammo so they need reloading just as an enemy comes round the corner

Sometimes I lose the ability to jump, and curbstones become major obstacles

Despite having an armoury of weapons on my back a simple locked door stops my progress and results in a big detour

Learnt is the past tense of the verb to learn in English, although learned is more commonly used in American English.

Claymores aren't dangerous as long as you're more than 15 ft away

Body armor will protect you from assault rifles at point blank range

I can run in front of a rapid fire belt fed machine gun and not get ripped in half(let alone go home in a zip lock bag)

Any idiot can patch up combat injuries with a little band aid, with no medical training

Hand grenades thrown at the tank's hull will kill it, and not just make it mad

It takes all week to reload a simple weapon, and if I were almost done and had to hit somebody I'd have to start over

I have an inhuman regeneration ability

I have unlimited stamina for sprinting

It takes a really long time to reload a gun, unless I've got the special "perk" . . . then i reload at superhuman speeds

People can survive being shot with a .50 cal in the chest at point blank

Only snipers are allowed to wear ghilley (sp?) suits

I can jump out a 3rd or 4th story window, and even though I hear bones break, I can hit the ground sprinting (and be fine in 5 seconds)

I can throw a grenade from one side of the world to the other

you can get shot 100 times and still live, with health packs:P

I learned that I can.......

I can graduate from sniper school in about 10 secs

Look at my own back and shoot from my shoulder if I try hard.

I can't kick down a locked door or blow it open, even though I shoot at it, throw greandes, plant and detonate c4, and shoot an rpg at it. Even if it is wooden, it won't budge

I Learned that sometimes I have to move forward 3 steps so there isn't an infinite amount of enemies coming over a hill.

I learned that i can choose how much I want to die, depending on what difficulty I want to fight on.

I can call in an airstrike after every 5 kills I get and a helicopter after every 7 kills

If I'm good with a grenade launcher or any other weapon the enemie will call me a "noob" and hurt my feelings.

I learned ....

Aliens will try and take over our world in the future.

I can be a 7 foot superhuman that kicks ass.

I wasnt the only one who wanted a chainsaw combined with a gun.

Perks can give me more health and make my bullets stronger.

I can die and be born again but in a different spot.

I can drop a grenade out of my butt when I die.

If I time a reload right, I can bring down an enemy.

I have a shield that regenerates

world war II happens ALOT.

my feet are visible in the second and third installments of "life."

assault rifles are almost completely inneffective unless a full clip goes into someone.

theres a radar that tells you where everybody is.

if i kill 7 people i can call a helicopter to kill everybody.

every soldier looks just like me.

I can run pass a large hole in an airplane in midlflight and not be sucked out.

My enemies always talk the same jibberish over and over again in a foreign language.

No matter where I hit my enemies with my knife, they will die instantly.

Things Ive Learned From An FPS

It takes 2 punches to kill a man in a suit of armor

When I fight somebody in close combat,I have about 2 ways to melee people with any kind of gun

If I blow up enough crates of gold, we win a war and somehow become rich with blown up gold

If I get shot in the head, i can fall down on the ground with my pistol out and shoot people with it for 15 seconds and kill myself immeidently. I also stay in the same position.

(this isnt exactly fps here but still) I learned that I can blind fire Miniguns and Shotguns without breaking a body part.

I can blow up a wall by drilling it

I can blow up an armored vechicle with a drill

I can kill a man by taking a drill to his helmet and its considered a headshot.

I have an unlimited amount of medikit and i always talk when i drop one

I can stab myself with a needle and heal myself.

If I die i can choose where i want to come back to.

I can drive any vechicle without starting it up.

If I shoot a trucks tires,they dont pop

Pistols are more lethal then a 50 cal sniper shot to the chest.

When i get shot,there are no holes in my body

When a Barett 50 cal shoots me in the arm,my arm is still attached to me

I can magically change from an SAS operitive to a Spetnaz soilder

I can run over a bag with a picture on it and instantly switch all my guns around.

If I kill enough of the enemy,they run out of soilders and the war ends instantly

I gain ranks in the US Army by fixing a jeep stuck in water

Jeeps can blow up if they stay in the water too long.

If i die in the war,i can restart the fight

Ooo i forgot, You can knife somebody anywhere and they die instantly

If you knife somebody,you magically get their dogtag

you can kill the same person more than once.....

Actually, if you die by a headshot in CoD4 you can't use Last Stand.

Here's some more:

• Violence has no consequences

Grr, I keep sounding like a hippie...

• The capture of red and blue flags is a critical element in the conduct of modern and future warfare.
• No matter how intimidating an opponent may seem, you always have a weapon they don't: The reload function.
• I can usually fire with perfect accuracy, even while running sideways.
• Weapons, when not used, often like to spin in place...or at least they used to... :(
• Sometimes the vehicles you drive are indestructible; other times not so much.
• Nightmare, Legendary, Insane, and Veteran are all synonymous with "frustration."
• Silencers rarely work.
• You can always hear sound in a vacuum, even though this makes no sense.
• Future technology will find a way to eliminate the need to scratch your face, when you live for days or even weeks inside of a helmet.
• Melee weapons are just as powerful as guns, as long as they're numbered 6, 7, or 8, and not 1.
• Most weapons systems in the universe use the same ammunition.
• Most alien races in the universe use the same ammunition.
• Girls are rare in combat.

They get boring if you play too many of them at once.

There's never the need to go to the bathroom after hours of being pinned down and running away from enemies

You can run up to people with a crowbar that see you, who are holding guns and hit them in the face.Carroll-06

I've learned...

1. Evil Genius Masterminds ALWAYS hire alot of crooks, that for some reason only are one percentage as strong as their leader

2. There can never exist more than 30 bulletholes in the world

3. Enemies in cover will always look out after me every 5th seconds

4. No one are afraid of guns

5. You will always have a crappy gun with loads of ammo for emergencies

6. After killing 10 or more enemies, their bodies start to fade slowly, and eventually dissappear

7. Bosses always flees in all cutscenes until the final one, instead of killing you right away.

8. You never need to rest, blink, eat or go to the bathroom

9. There will always be a maximum of 10 weapons in the world

It seems like everyone totally misinterpreted the thread title. I assumed it was things you learned, not weird technical and gameplay flaws you have found.

The only main thing I have "learned" is that contrary to what unwashed hippy scum like to say, guns do in fact solve most problems. True, they may cause a lot, but let's not be sticklers. :D

These are recent as they're from Bad Company

-Explosions do absolutely nothing to infantry in multiplayer unless get a direct hit.

-You can shoot a sniper in the chest with about 15 bullets from an LMG and he can survive, only to shoot you twice with his pistol and you go down.

-A .50 cal sniper is just as powerful as any other sniper; it has now advantages. And if your first shot is a little low and hits their neck instead of their head, the person will miraculously (sp?) live and run and hide so you can't finish them off.
