hello, thinking of buying a 360 here and have some questions.

first, i hear many people are getting Red ring of death on their 360s. Should i geta 360 nowor wait a few months until microsoft can fix this? I heard of new "falcon" systems being produced which run cooler. Do these still have a high chance of getting a RRoD? As i take good care of all my consoles and games, i would like the 360 to last at least ~4 years like all my other consoles have.

second, i am on a budget, and would like to know if it is possible to play online multiplayer on a game such as halo 3 with an Xbox 360 arcade system (comes with 256mb memory unit)? Please do not tell me something like "get a pro", unless its absolutely not possible to play online games that iwould want to buy.(NOT meaning downloading addons/DLC/map packsor arcade games).

finally, does the xbox 360 arcade come with any type of xbox live gold trial? or do i have to buy a gold card the same time as when i buy my 360?

thanks.

Hey, as for waiting to get your 360, now is probally a perfectly fine time to go get one. The falcon chips were said to be shipping back in October and there have been reports of them in the consoles. As long as you get one of the newer consoles with either Hdmi (that being offered in the Pro package) or the new arcade package that you were looking at, you should be fine. Deffiently keep the 360 in a well ventilated area not next to your tv and right up against another console. Let it have quite a bit of room, and that goes for the power brick as well because that has a cooling fan in it too. Sadly as for playing games online i think you may need the harddrive. On some sites i have seen it as a NO on others a yes, i researched this before i bought mine as well so i would know. It was said online, and to access everything the harddrive is needed. I mean the arcade dosent come with the Hd cables or the harddrive but money wise it is cheaper, but if you'd like to do the gaming like online the harddrive is $100 more seperate. As for the free month i think it does include it although the 1 month gold card is $7.99...
