I'm considering getting a 360 this fall, but I have some questions.

-What are the current 360 models on the market, how much do they cost, what are their differences, and which one should I get?

-RROD and Warranty. Can someone explain the three year 360 warranty system to me?

-No 360 model has built in Wi-fi right? How much do the adapters cost?

-Can someone explain XBL? What features are available for free?

-I prefer HDMI. Which 360 models have HDMI ports?

-Hardrives. Which 360 models come with them??

-And finally, game reccomendations?

....

Thanks in advance.

Short answers:

360 Elite has a 120gb HD, HDMI and a low failure rate. It's just had a price drop in the U.S.A I think.

XBL has 2 accounts types - silver (free) and gold (costs about the same as one full price game per year). Both pretty much the same, except gold lets you download brand new stuff on the MP that may be restricted for a short time, and will allow you to play online games, Silver doesn't.

You will need a seperate WiFi adaptor. The official xbox one is a bit expensive, but I hear you can use *some* standard Pc ones - read up on this.

For games check the game recommendation thread at the top of this board.

get a 60gig or 120gig depending on how much you plan to dowload. these new models have hdmi ports and hardly get rrod.you can get wi-fi adapters pretty cheap (****** gaming adapter). you definately need need need need need xbox live. trust me have the 1 month free trial - you'll love it. then get a 12+1 card from ebay. quite cheap. for games - halo, fifa, call of duty 4, gears, assasins creed, pgr, grid, guitar hero, nba - there's loads of good games for 360.

You should get the 60 GB Xbox 360 which goes for $299 (I think).

The warranty protects you from RRoD for three years from the date you have purchased the console. I think it only protects you against the RRoD not errors like E74.

The official Xbox 360 adapter costs 100 dollars the last time I checked. You can use third party ones that cost less I think.

Xbox LIVE Silver basically allows you to everything except for play multiplayer online games. That would include buying Arcade games off of Xbox LIVE Arcade, downloading demos, Xbox Originals, etc.

The Elite and new Pros have HDMI slots, the Arcade does not.

Every model except for the Arcade comes in with a Hard-drive, the Pro comes in 60 GB now, and the Elite 120 GB.

I would head on down to the Game's Recommendation Sticky at the top of the page to see some great games, but really it's all in preference of genre and stuff like that.

Forget about that low rrod on the elite it can fail you cause mine just did but still get it cause its the best one out of all of the systems You want gold on the xbox live and people are crazy if there paying the 50 a month thing just go to your local gamestop and get an xbox live prepaid card way easier and less the hassle you dont have to worry about killing your account everymonth
