Hello all. So I have not touched a console since the PS2 and Gamecube. I never owned the original Xbox and since my gaming PC has broken down I've been thinking of picking up a Xbox 360 so I can still game while saving to rebuild a new PC. I'm just curious on whether picking up the 250 GB is worth the money or if a 120 GB would suffice? I could afford the 120 GB + 2 games or the 250 GB + 1 game. I would think Fallout New Vegas would be a nice game to keep me busy until Christmas where I could get a few more games, thoughts?

I would go with the new Xbox 360 "Slim" either the 4GB or the 250GB. Really the 250GB is a better deal, for $100 more you get a 250GB hard drive instead of a 4GB hard drive. Either way, go with the new Xbox since it is quieter and will supposedly shut off before it overheats too much. As far as Fallout: New Vegas, I heard it is a great game. A game like that, Fallout 3 or Fable 3 will keep you entertained and busy until Christmas time (depending on how much you play it). You can find Fallout 3 pretty cheap now too, so that may be your best bet so that you may be able to buy two games. Mass Effect is a great game too, both the first and second can be found for around $20 at Walmart.

I recommend the 250 GB console. As for games I would wait til Xmas on New Vegas. You should be able to get Gears 1 and 2 new for around $60 total or take a look at Halo Reach. The X360s library really is great all you need is a little research

forget the pc...the xbox 360 is best...and fallout 3 and fallout new vegas are awesome games.....the 120 gig would be cool...but the 250 gig would get you plenty of room for dlc and stuff

I would get a slim for sure, as for games to keep you busy... Oblivion is old by this consoles standards, but if its your first current gen adventure, it will keep you busy and impressed for very little cash.

I just got the 4gb slim a couple weeks back and am very happy with it. I love playing sports games on it.

I currently still use my gaming pc for FPS games because I love keyboard and mouse. I've tried a few times

but can't seem to get my bearings right with the controller on FPS games, maybe with some more practice.

I'm in Canada. I don't think we have a Target store up here, at least not anywhere close to me.

That is disappointing to hear about New Vegas, maybe I will wait. Seeing how Dragon Age: Ultimate just came out and I was having fun with it on PC but never got to finish it, I think I might just pick that up along with it and that should keep me busy.

LOL don't listen to the 360 fanboys! One kid said Forget the PC cause 360 is the best?? LOL that is such bull! Anyone who says 360 is better then PC is a poor little kid who can't afford a PC or is too stupid to maintain a PC and keep it going strong. Since you are a PC gamer I would recommend spending as little as possible on the 360 and putting it to your new PC build. I have an arcade 360 which I bought a 20GB HDD for. The 20GBB HDD is plenty of space to get you by until your PC is back up and running. You already being a PC gamer you will probably be quite disappointed in the 360. It has no Anti Aliasing, no keyboard and mouse, no DX11, no dedicated servers, no X-FI sound effects, no physicx and 100% of time looks inferior to the same game on PC. Pick up a used Arcade console with a 20GB HDD for about $100 (what I paid for mine in Canada) and put the rest of the money towards your PC build. As long as you get an arcade system (one with the white DVD drive bezel) you shouldn't have to worry about the Red Ring of Death since they improved on the arcade system and once you get your PC back you won't want to ever touch your 360. I only bought my 360 for 360 exclusives (Gears of War 2, Halo Reach, Ninja Gaiden 2, Guitar Hero) but now that I have played those games I hardly ever touch the 360. If you are just after a gaming system to get you by I would actually seriously recommend getting a PSP or a Nintendo DS since they are portable and you will probably get more use out of them once you get your PC back up and running. I have a DS and I still play it tons because it is so unique and is a nice change for some casual gameplay. How is your PC no longer working?? Its unlikely that more then one component went at once. For the price of a 360 you could replace what ever part went bad on you and be back up and running. The most expensive part in a PC that generally fails is the Graphics Card and you can get a new HD5770 for around $150 or the new 6850 for just around $200.

Yes you need to get gaming. The Xbox 360 has lots to offer. The best online. What are you waiting for?

I always hear people say it has the best online. Out of the consoles it is but it comes no where near online for PC. Match Making will never compare to dedicated servers and clan servers. Match Making does have its benefits but it still doesn't compare to a good old dedicated server where you can go on at anytime and see a bunch of people you know playing. Or dedicated servers that have specific rules. The only COD4 server I would ever play was a Shotgun and Pistol only server and it is simply the most fun I have ever had on COD4. And to top it all off... You have to pay for Xbox Live. I'm not here to bash 360. I have one myself and even pay for xbox live. I'm just trying to get the correct info out there. PC is better in every way possible.

If you don't think you're gonna play it that much after you get your computer running, get the 4gig slim. :)
