30 minutes ago my 360 got the rings... wonderful timing with GTA IV. :( Contra_Dk
Better hurry up and get the Coffin from MS.
man that sucks!
im sure a lot of people are sitting there thinking xbox plz dont break as well i know i am
Big deal, send it in and get GTA when you get the system back.
You waiting for GTA for what, 3 years now? What's another couple of weeks?
Hmm... buy a PS3 to avoid that inevitable rrod problem. I have my PS3 on stand by just in case my 360 rrod's before GTAIV's release which also is the console I'm purchasing it for.shaunchgo
It's a misconception that PS3 has amazing hardware. I mean look at the track record, I went through 4-5 PS2's last gen. Plus a broken Sony Bravia tv that malfunctioned on it's own. I don't understand where Sony earned it's stamp of quality.
After a year and a half, my 360 still works as does my PS3.

Sorry I'm just defensive. Just got out of the PS3 forums, every avatar is a RROD.
Why would you have an avatar of a console you don't even own, just for a try at knocking it?

Probibly because there are alot of people like myself who loved their 360 then rrod and a junk refurb 5 months after paying $500 for an elite. Then buying a PS3 and realizing how much theyve been ripped off buying games for a console with a time bomb attached.
I've had one die on me right before the release of Gears of War and Bioshock. In other words mines should be dieing any day now
[QUOTE="DrMatta"]1) Buy a new one.
2) Bring your RRoD'd xbox back the next day to the same store and say: it's broken i want a refund.
3) The End.
Kollawona
Exacly, or you can just return it for a new one if you still have the warranty. Thats what I did.
return it to who?
Sounds like this thread should check out the EB games product replacement plan.Crash6
Wont happen.. GameStop/EB Games doesn't sell(isn't supposed to) PRP's for 360's, New or used.
i know right i had 9 ps1s blow a fuse, disc problems etc.
3 ps2s break and i already had to return a ps3 the first day i got it, so ya i dont know where sony gets the quality stamp,
nintendo is the only one ive played for years and havent had a malfunction that wasnt done by me lol i threw a coupe of gcs, thats the only reason i had to replace em ,, but nothing done by the system it self,
wii i have since launch still works,
but ya get your coffin quick it shouldnt take long

Maybe some people aren't fanboys and love all of the consoles? How about this read the rules you aren't suppose to talk about the PS3 in the XBOX 360 forums. If you dislike your ps3 sell it and just go to the Xbox 360 forum this is why when i get my ps3 i'm staying far away from that forum.
lol im not even playing mine anymore until gta 4 comes out....im playing gta 4 day one no matter whatman that sucks!
im sure a lot of people are sitting there thinking xbox plz dont break as well i know i am
Beaglesniffer
i suggest u not touch ur 360 until gta comes out then do the towel trick to play it atleast a week (thats how long my friends lasted) of gta then send it to microsoft.iam2green
Do not do the Towel trick...its stupid and if microsoft finds out they do not repair it.
[QUOTE="Contra_Dk"]I'm just going to buy a new one... Never thought this could happen to me. :(
I would cry my brains out if the hard-drive wasn't external.

Make sure to send back the broken one so you have 2.
that is a really smart idea
1) Buy a new one.
2) Bring your RRoD'd xbox back the next day to the same store and say: it's broken i want a refund.
3) The End.

No they don't, they scan the box it was in. I work at an electronics strore myself, we just scan the barcode of the box the 360 was shipped in. Plus, i think fraud/theft are strong words here, because you paid for one; Twice actually. Microsoft is the one selling broken hardware around here. If they stopped selling broken hardware, i could see the point. You're not stealing one, because you paid for it. And you're not frauding, because there's warranty. Maybe not for the right console, but hey, it's something a man has to do near the GTA4 release.
They are not strong works. Its not the same. You are not going through microsft. You are trying to rip off a store and let them loss money because you are lazy and can't think of a legit way to get a 360 for this guy. Its not their 360. Simply Dont try to cheat and steal from a store because microsoft has crappy product, try giving advice that won't get him arrested.
Like buy a new one get a service plan with the store, so if it happens to that one just bring it back to the store and get a new one. Send the old one out to microsoft and see if they fix it. If they can within 30 days return the 360 back to the store get money back. if they can't and its now a paper weight, or takes 3 months. then you are better off with the new one you have.
Also you store is getting ripped off and lossing money, just go ask why serial numbers on items (like the 360) are important in retail.
