So I am on my fourth 360 and now this ones having problems. It doesnt read any of my disks or dvds that I insert into it. Either it says unplayable disk or it loads up a white screen telling me to insert a disk. Does annyone know anything about this? I cant send it to microsoft because they want to charge me 99 bucks to repair it, which to me is bs when a new 360 is 199. I can still play demos on my 360 and load up my profile, so my hard drive and system works its just the disk drive. Anyone know anything about this??, plz help!

just sounds like your disc reader is broke, if you don't wanna pay anything to fix it you could try yourself or get someone computer smart to do it... personally, i'd look on youtube for any helpful self repair videos

hope you get it fixed :)

Ok I had to remove my post as I just recieved a points loss for posting the same thing for someone else - so I figured I would remove this before a Mod freaked out and got trigger happy. I don't agree with the moderation - however I want to respect GS, so...

Sorry if I implied that you should cause the RROD - even though I specifically said I wouldn't suggest damaging your hardware. ;)

PM me if you need to - as it is hard to tell what the Mods are going to consider "Illegal" anymore.

I take very good care of my Xbox, I keep my discs in their correct cases and NEVER leave them laying around in the floor or wherever. The only time I've had a problem with my Xbox was when the disc drive died in it and that because I played it too much.

My point is, take care of your things. Some of my friends don't take care of their discs or systems and have had the RROD multiple times and sometimes it won't even read the discs.

Its an issue with the disc drive. People have been playing games for many years, then the 360 comes out and all of a sudden we dont know how to take care of our games. Sorry, its the 360 hardware not us. Im sure some people may leave their discs in rough shape but not everyone. I had this exact issue the TC is talking about and luckily it was still under the gamestop in store warranty and I just got a new 360. And all the discs that were having issues with the last 360 work perfectly fine for the new 360. So its by far the 360 thats been having issues, not the discs. I'm on my 4th 360 now and i've been gaming since atari 2600. The 360 is the ONLY system to ever breakdown on me.

Sorry TC, sounds like you might want to have someone who knows what they are doing and replace that disc drive.

Dude where are you buying your 360s? if the fourth 3rd broke on you, why the hell would the fourth from that same store work for you? Just go to your seller, refund it, or return it, ask for money back or get another one. If you have enough, sell your current one (after you fix or whatever) or sell it even if its broken, im sure someone will make profit off of buying it off you and fixing it.

After you have got enough, buy a 360 from best buy, buy a 3 year warranty, and enjoy your 360 with games like Gears 2 or Dead Space or Fable 2/Fallout 3. Have fun, and DONT buy a ps3, Im still laughing at my half brother for buying one, when he cant play gears 2. xD

I wish it was that easy but I moved to another state so to go back to the store and get a refund would coast more than a new 360 just for a plan ticket.
