Yup, good point.
TC, I think they will have resolved the RRoD issue. If they didn't they'd risk being mocked even more by the gaming industry as having such terrible failure rates. From what I've seen/heard it's got better ventilation (notice the big fan), so overheating shouldn't be an issue.
I am under the impression that you have not seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu0mnpbFMt4 The RRoD technically does not exist as they have removed the red LED's from the console but if this has anything to show then the failure rates havent improved that much.JM_MUFC
I'm not in denial or anything but I have a feeling that MAY be fake. Also, he obviously has not given his Xbox 360 Slim enough room to breathe by placing it inbetween those 2 other consoles. Can't it also be his disk causing the problem? I heard it is not recommended to place your xbox360 vertically like that.
That is so fake when that happened to my xbox there wasn't just lines all the textures were messed up and it froze and turned off

the xbox 360 is built to be vertical.. theres no reason why it would break from being vertical..So far my ELITE has worked very well, unless i get the ring i'd trade it orherwise i prefer to have less room in my HDD than to trade for a version that could get broken like any other.
[QUOTE="RobboElRobbo"]erm, yes there is, they showed it at e3No such thing as a 360 slim

I fail to see what it considered 'slim' about it and it says nothing about an Xbox slim on xbox.com. Its official name is Valhalla so far.

well, I guess you're right considering it doesn't even look smaller, just shinierwerent the problems resolved with the jasper models? i've had my jasper model over a year with no probs. cant be any worse unless there is a new problem, lol

Yes people! Listen to this guy. Honestly, RRoD hasn't been a problem for a while. Since the regular Xbox 360 models with the newer chipsets don't have any problems, I'd imagine ANOTHER improvement wouldn't either... common sense.

stop trying to be a smartass. it's refered to as the slim because it's a smaller version of the 360 and it's just a name. you know what he's talking about so why do you have to be so technical about it? we know it's not the official name, if there even is gonna be an "official" name. it's just a new model of the xbox 360.
and also, tc, no one has the new 360, so no one knows if it has less of a chance to get rrod. there hasnt been much of a problem with the new chipset, so obviously there shouldnt be much problem with the new xbox. there are always going to be those systems that fail and need replacement if you get unlucky. who cares, they will replace it...so i dont see what the problem is. a few weeks without your system isnt going to kill you.

the xbox 360 is built to be vertical.. theres no reason why it would break from being vertical.. Actually it creates undue stress on the disc drive because the disc has nothing to spin against. I went through four 360s in two years, all of which were vertically standing. Got a refurb back, laid it flat, and it lasted for about two years before it croaked. Beyond my experience, though, I will tell you that most people who know about it will tell you that horizantal is the way to go if you want longevity. That's been true of every console since the PS2 (except the Wii, which has a drive holder in place and not just a free-spinning disc system). PLus, you're far less likely to knock it over and smoke it if its laying flat.yeah jaspers almost killed the rrod. only been hearing it again because the slim came out and a news thread came out saying ms took the red lights out of the new slim. ied say the 360 slim is the safest system on the planet right now. no way ms wants to start a new billion dallor 3 year warrenty plan again....werent the problems resolved with the jasper models? i've had my jasper model over a year with no probs. cant be any worse unless there is a new problem, lol
