This WILL change your mind about Halo 3's graphics!

Also let me just say one thing: does there seem to be a sun in the Halo universe unlike GoW or is it just me? It must be overcast everyday on Sera. Hm....that would get pretty boring wouldn't it?

I never thought the graphics were bad... but now that I read this I would prefer if they gave the game the muddy look.

It didn't change my mind at all. Anywho i never really thought Halo 3's graphics were that bad at all and i like them for being clean.

Really though look at Halos in the past.... Has Halo ever really being the best looking game? No! Now this can go to peoples opinion and this is mine. When i played Halo 1 i thought it looked good, but when i played Final Fantasy 10 it looked better (of course that game was also a lot of 2D backgrounds). When Halo 2 came out it didn't look bad, but Half-Life 2 looked way better. Half-Life 2 had much better animations on their characters which probably also came along with he better physics in that game.

I think that Gears is a lot more impressive and wowing in terms of graphics, but i think you also have to include scale. Gears's levels are small scale and a lot of indoor places. That means they were able to put a lot of stuff in small areas while games like Lost Planet were huge levels in comparison.

You can take Gears and yeah it had great graphics, but it lacked a lot in story (not single-player experience, but story), depth, and a lot of features. I mean besides the ability to choose 12 different characters to play and the ability to set up the time on Annex matches there wasn't much you could do...... Oh yea in player matches you could choose weapon swapping and friendly fire, but that was it with the options (besides gun locations which was nice). And the campagin mode there wasn't much in terms of unlockables and hidden things besides cog tags which gave you what? Achievements? For gears they took the time to make the game look pretty and the actino quick without it being a run and gun shooter (which online it pretty much is a shotgun fest which makes it a run and gun shooter).

Bungie took the time to include a plethra of online options and unlockables and hidden gems. The hidden gems will give you achievements, but also do something to the game (skulls) like hide the hud from view. Plus the game will probably be larger scale (4 player co-op). So really i am perfectly fine with the graphics being not as good as the competition because thats not what Halo is...
