Thoughts on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam?

I'll start by saying this: I loved the original Bad Company 2. I've sank nearly 400 hours into it since it's release in March. That being said, I felt disappointed with the Vietnam expansion. I dislike the maps as they tend to favor one team or the other (Phu Bai Valley comes to mind). It also seems like the damage multiplier was brought back into the game, which I didn't really like in the first place. Just felt like sharing my opinion as I'm obsessing over this harsh buyer's remorse lol.

My buddy bought it and wasn't happy. I will stick with CoD and ACB

I think its great and its proper value for money. Hill 137 is one of the best looking maps out of any Bad Company map.

I was a little bit irritated when my stats were reset to zero so I didn't touch it for a few days but its all fixed now.

im enjoying the game and the maps are good, i do have a bit of a problem with the matchmaking though, every single game iv played so far has been extremely one sided with one team totally dominating the other, which isnt much fun really no matter which of the teams your on

I really like the DLC and think its great value for money compared to alot of other stuff on the marketplace that you can buy for that price

Oh, and I haven't bough the expansion yet, but it looks great to me, ut I have heard Rush mode is kind of wacky in some of the maps.

i like it a lot. I like that the damage is increased, once they nerfed a bunch of guns in BC2 I found the game to be a lot less enjoyable and now that damage is higher the game is much more enjoyable

Yeah, I noticed the increased damage right away, and I like it. They should keep it like this for Battlefield 3, and I think they will...

It's a very good expansion. Theres nothing better then flying in on a Huey with some epic battle music playing :lol:

It's awesome! the maps are amazing as usual! Nothing wrong with Phu Bai Valley! it's just not as good as the other 3. None of them favour 1 team IMO..

yeah im pretty disappointed as well. im surprised by people saying the maps are bad for rush mode, but ok for conquest. in my experience, the maps are downright horrible for conquest, mostly because theyre alot more linear than the maps for the regular bad company 2. so if a team takes the point closest to their base and the one in the middle, then the game is pretty much over. all that team has to do now is spawn camp. i cant remember how many times ive been put into a game where the other team had the first two points, so all they did was have a tank parked out by the middle point and constantly bombarding us as we spawned. this wouldnt be such a big problem if the maps were more wide open with many ways to get around the map, but with the maps being so linear theres pretty much only one way to get across the map. i like the regular bad company 2 alot more.

Do you need the VIP DLC stuff to enjoy Vietnam? I'm thinking of getting the game used and I hated that when I had previously rented it I kept getting dropped every few games because I didn't have VIP.jmartinez1983

The maps are a bit too small but I love it.

Me and my friends play it but we were kind of turned off by the lack of cover. Most maps literally just throw you into wipe open areas or force you to use a single choke point which is either being covered heavily with tons of random gunfire or grenades raining from the sky nonstop. Its a relief to finally get through, but its really frustrating when you do nothing but die over and over.

I like the idea of the smaller maps which creates more up close battles, but its a little much. The tactics part which makes BC is almost gone. Now its run in and gun. This doesn't hamper the fact that its DLC and only $15 though. Spite all that its still great fun, just not for me.

These few things turned me off and well i prefer the original over this.

I love Vietnam, made a great game even better imo.

One of the best online FPS this gen imo.

The maps are much better then on Bad COmpany2 imo. At first I thought it was to clsoe quarters, but after mastering each one I can now say I enjoy the maps more then the previous ones. They also fit the time and country perfect, as alot of those battles were clsoe quarters to.

Team work is needed even more in this to, which makes it more fun for me as a medic.

me niether this game is just simply awesome well worth the money. Alot of people are finding it harder but after a while you start racking up the points. No scopes and such but certainley an enjoyable learning curve.

I love the Vietnam expansion. I think it's one of the best DLCs that's ever been released for any game on the 360. The only map I'm not really happy with is Operation Hastings. It's just kind of a weird map, and if you know how to as an attacker, you can be effective in Rush on all 3 M-Com settings without ever leaving the original deployment zone. My only other complaint with the DLC in general is the Huey, and the achievement associated with it. I suck at flying anyways, but with the Huey having barely any armor, it's extremely hard to get kills with, therefore hard to get the achievement. Other than that, I love the expansion. I actually spend more time playing the expansion then I do the original multiplayer.

Edit: Also, I've never seen anyone get a "Destruction 2.0" kill on any of the Vietnam maps. I'm just not sure if they got rid of it in the expansion or just made it so none of the buildings could collapse, but I've never seen it. Anyone else?

I love it! The only problem I have with it is that I wish there were some more guns and I wish they would fix the Vantage Point map for Rush :evil:Funconsole

i think its well worth the price.

im having alot of fun with it. though i can see why some people are getting bored of it

maps do kinda stink and it makes it worse thats theres so few maps to begin with

plus, 3 weapons is a low amount, but they balance each other out.

but im happy with my purchase
