Thoughts on new Gears trailer?

i for one thought it looked very interesting..was kind of hoping for some real-time gameplay footage but this has definetley whet my appetite for the time being....just one more SHORT year!!!!!

Honestly thought it was kinda, meh.

First of all, don't hate on the teaser trailer because it did not reveal "game play" footage. Epic has a whole year to build up hype on this one. The other complaint I have read is that it is getting stale...Gears was always meant as a trillogyand Epic wanted to do itwithin one system generation. I personally think theyhave done a good job...now if we could only tighten up the online portion...

My thoughts: It looks like quite a bit of time has passed between the second game and the third (the comics will bridge this I guess), seeing as all the characters have aged quite a bit. It looks like the locust have used some sort of nuclear/napalm device to turn people into ash statues. I did not personally like the choice of music but it was ok. I still think the original teaser trailer was the best of all time so everything IMO is measured against that.

Yeah, meh. It shows a (Maybe) female playable character and a new shotgun. I'll wait for more revealing footage before I'm really impressed.

Looks pretty good. After each Gears trailer I always want to play.

Hardly shows anything new so its hard to get too excited right now. I expect more when E3 starts. Still proper excited all the same!rbirkett

Cole has a red do-rag on makes him look bold but he aint. With a year to go it was a good trailer shows this is going to be a more desperate sort of situation with Jacinto gone and looks like Anya is with them now. You know there are more bad ass trailers to come,but ayear seems like forever at the moment.

Are you sure that was Cole? The only character that I recognized was Marcus. The bearded guy was holding what looked like the older model lancer with the bayonet rather than the chainsaw and Marcus was wearing a different type of armor and holding a different model shotgun. Which leads me to believe that Gears 3 could have some prequel levels. I don't think it will be a complete prequel because we need to conclude the story. Perhaps some flashback prequel levels to establish Marcus' father and to show how and why Marcus went AWOL and was sent to prison. Just some guesses... DJ_Magneto

Also, I thought thought the trailer was awesome.

I use females in any game possible. I think we need more female characters in games, I'm tired of using the same generic guys all over again. (Only exception is Nathan Drake, cuz he's teh funniez)

nothing special really but i'm sure they'll come up with something decent later on.

I'm pretty sure by E3 or TGS we'll have some sort of info on what's included and where the story is going with The Lambent attacking both Locust and COG army.

and around the closing there are a bunch of what seems to be crab-like creatures coming up from behind the COG

Trailer looked cool. Great to see baird. Hopefully i will see more when i go to e3 in june.

The only thing I hope is that the game reveals all the questions because it's been 2 games with little plot to tell(I Hate LOST for the same reason), ansd i thought it was ok, it's just like the other 2 teaser they made, they just show what happens in the next game and the date of release.

Well it is a teaser trailer, its designed to put the game in your mind, if it was meant to satisfy all your gears needs then it would be the final product and we would be playing it today.

Uh dude E3 is closed to the public....

Made me want to play through Gears 2 again, but I no longer have it :P Maybe I'll pick up the GOTY edition...never even played it online, but I thought the campaign was awesome!

I just want to see a gameplay video and see what they've done with the colors or anything different. They better spend the whole year fixing the multiplayer because it was a big problem in gears 2. Hopefully a longer campain.

It showed a female cog. From the look of it, the game might have 4 player co-op. I have to see gameplay of it. Also did anyone notice that marcus and Dom look older? So is it taking place like several years after Gears 2?
