Thousands of innocent people banned from Xbox Live?

After reading through endless topic after topic on Xbox.com its apparent that this is very serious.

Microsoft implemented a new fix to attack thieves, but in turn may have attacked their own fanbase.

There is no Official statement from Microsoft regarding anyone getting banned for no reason.

However I would like to remind everyone about the Fall Update back in November, because everyone has forgotten how thousands of 360 consoles became paper weights after the update.

My entire argument is that Microsoft does not thorughly test software before releasing it.

That had nothing to do with it. People who have never played crackdown are getting banned too. Either way the hacker community is finding a fix.

I think those banned deserved it. If youve modded your 360 to stel games, then, dont cry about it, you stole from them, they Pwned your ass and took it back. its just FAIR.

oh yeah, and as for the update 3 ringing a 360...thats just BS. In my time as an IT Tech, NEVER has a piece of software destroyed the hardware. It just doesnt work like that.

ill know more tomorow if it has anything to do with the crackdown/halo 3 beta. the delay could of been a front for the bans? who knows its happend they shud of put sum ads out sayin this beforehand though so regular people or (amateur theives as somtimes called) would know not to get 360s modded. after all the xbox live isnt free nor are microsoft points and expansion packs which shud be in the game to begin with.DarthShinzo

expansion packs are just that, EXPANSION. they ehouldnt be in the game to begin with if they were an expansion. what sense is there in that comment seriously? dont be cheap, buy the addons.

You haven't seen enough as an IT Tech then.  It is very possible for software to destroy hardware.  Heavily overclocking without concern for adequate cooling through software will shorten and eventually kill a videocard/cpu/ram/whatever else you choose to overclock.  It has happened on developer 360 rigs as well; software is culprit.

As far as the ban is concerned, it's only those who hacked their firmware.  Usually the intention is to play "backed up" games which usually means pirated games.  I'm not suprised at all that Microsoft decided to "crackdown" on them (yeah lame pun, i get it).  It happened before on the original xboxs as well; only a matter of time

last years update killed a few xboxes including mine which microsoft repaired.

 the banned people cant moan and complain they or we or u or i made the choice all you can do is carry on playin copies without XBL or buy another 360 i know ill be buyin another 360 very soon
