It has come to our attention that the discs provided by Microsoft for review do not represent the final retail version of Lost Odyssey.
Please see my blog for more information. I will keep everyone informed as we learn more information.

glad to see microsoft pays attention to gamespot.... LOL
as soon as your head honcho left , gamespot has been slowly going down.. I know I am not the only to think this way..

are you sure your guys didn't review assassins creed . that wasn't the final version..
Assassins is a great game .. amazing actually , and game spot gave it a horrible score..
get with the times. your trying to be totally unbiased .. but all your doing is being completly biased..
Halo 3 a 9.5 , who pays you guys...??
anyway I know I will probably get a one day suspension for this post , but it will be well worth it..
peace gamespot ,
PKmaster1984

OH yea sorry about that assassins creed thing, that was IGN who gave it a brutal score...
I love gamespot with all my heart
happy v day gamespot...
that makes sense i was thinking wtf? were they playing the same game. does this mean the review will be altered
I'm about 9 hours or so into the game and I have yet to see framerate issues, screen tearing, or long load times. The longest loading that I've seen was about 10-12 seconds, maximum. I'm hooked on the game. It's addictive, fun, the characters extremely likeable, great voiceovers, gorgeous cutscenes, graphics are superb, controls are excellent and easy to use, the story is very VERY well done. I dont see any problems with this game at all. I will never understand why the game was marked the way it was. In my humble opinion, the game to me is at least a 9.2 or higher. It's challenging but fair, you have to check this game out or buy it now. Lost Odyssey is one of those games where you need to ignore what reviewers said. Do yourself a favor and pick this title up today.Elann2008
you speak the truth!
anyone else really like the dreams?
Yeah, 7.5 is quite an unfair score of LO considering the very things you complained about performance wise were pretty much fixed.
Do I hear an 8.5??
I've posted this in other threads, but I will give what I see as the facts, not interpretations.
1.) I did see one instance of frame skipping/choppiness. That was the first fight scene with the 100s of Khent Soldiers. I happened every time Kaim killed one. This is not as much a problem with the engine as it is with a specific glitch I'd say as after 7+ hours of play I did not experience anything like it again.
2.) I measured the first 5 loading screens. I counted 1,2,3,4, etc... not 1 one thousand 2 one thousand. I got 8, 7, 9, 10, 10. That's like no more than a 5 real time seconds (I admit I do not have a stop watch). Yes, one scene later took a bit longer like count to 20, but nothing like that.
While numerous, they are very short, and nothing as bad as Oblivion, or the Orange Box on the PS3.
While I could go into gameplay and such I won't.
I suggest Gamespot adopt a policy of playing only consumer available games or ask for such things before putting out irresponsible reviews such as this one (seeing as this review doesn't accurately portray the issues at hand and Gamespot is dedicated to telling the audience which games are worth purchases). The already tarnished reputation of the reviews cannot sustain anymore and I refuse to believe that this type of situation isn't known before hand that non retail copies don't have bugs.

yeah i agree they shouldnt review debug versions of the game even if they cliam it to be the final version because there was still development time which allowed them to change some things but then i also see it from their point if they dont get the game early how can they be expected to have out an review when the game comes out
The game is very fun but there are a lot of times that are really difficult (borgimoray things) and some that are just confusing and annoying if you don't know exactly how to do it(in jail in the white boa) but the game is a lot of fun. The constant cutscenes suck though and i don't see the point of the dreams, having to read a documentary on what happened before. The game is still th best new one this year.

Personally, I like the difficulty. I want my game to be tough, I really enjoy the challenge. I also like the cutscenes because I love hearing Jansen's comments. Finally, I like the dreams, they are touching and give you insight into Kaim. You do realize that you can just skip them if you don't like them, right? You just have to hit the B button when they pop up.

I'm skipping all the dreams, because they dont really have anything to do with the game's story. I'll be reading the dreams after I've completed LO. Besides, reading the dreams kinda breaks up the gameplay. I'm 30 hours into the game. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

nooo the dreams are amazing. it gives you a real background to Kaim and what pain he has previously gone through. i really liked them :P

Agreed. I really really love Kaim.
loading times should have nothing to do with what makes this game a great rpg... and im willing to bet they spent 10 mins playing the game then threw out some lame as review.. and it was prolly someone who dosent know the true meaning of an rpg.. D3aDStaR
Load times have a LOT to do with the score of the game, especially this game. Longer load times completely breaks down the games pace. Don't make stupid accusations like that, anyone who has played a fair amount of RPG's and any other genre for that matter knows that loading times always affect gameplay. Anyway any update on whether the score will be changed or not?
Have to agree with everyone else in this forum.
No technical issues.
Great game.
8.5 easy.
Let's see if Gamespot values it's members opinion and acts responsibly with a changed review.
If they REDO Gamespot's review for Lost Odyssey it will be a complete INSULT to this site. Gamespot will lose any credibility it had left.
If they fix Lost Odyssey's score then they need to fix nearly half of the games on this site that were reviewed wrong!!

What the hell are you talking about?
Lost Odyssey got reviewed WITH THE WRONG DISC. The disc they got was the UNFINISHED version, IF gamespot doesnt change the score to fit THE RETAIL VERSION, then they will lose my support.
You do relize teh guy who reviewed did so with an UNFINISHED COPY?
lol wrong disc...
Yea I went to Wal-Mart and talked with the guy in Electronics...
It seems that all the retailers as well as Gamespot got a copy of the BETA version of the game.
Finally picked Lost Odyssey up!!!!! Gonna go put it in the 360 right now! :Dkozzy1234
Enjoy! once you get into it, its fantastic :)
