??? It has real-time combat and is not party-based, but I hope that doesn't prevent it from being an RPG. If so, KOTOR, Morrowindand Fable aren't RPG's, probably along with a bunch of others. In Oblivion, you are playing a role, picking your path continuously and customizing your character continuously. Turn-based combat and party systems don't make RPG's--they were just part of a few important RPG's. One argument is that, "okay, that makes games like GTA, Silent Hill and Deus Ex RPG's."Well, they sure have picked up a few RPG elements as games are generally getting more complex, but the line has to be drawn somewhere. Oblivion is on the RPG side of the line. Unless you're into JRPG's, I guess!:D

I'm a huge FPS fan, JRPG fan, and Oblivion fan. (I have over 900 achievement points in Gears, Enchanted Arms, PSU, and Oblivion)
However, Oblivion is not for everyone. Many people get bored with it. More people get addicted to it. Although there is a plot, it's easy to go off the path and some people get bored since the story stalls a bit.

he means its not as much into the RPG category as it should be
more into action
it is an RPG though
it isn't like the typical rpg. The main story is actually VERY short. You can probably beat the main quest in a matter of a few hours using an invisibility spell.
Anyway the game is mostly dungeon crawling. You can be a brute and smash everything or you can hide in the shadows and shoot from a distance with a bow. The story takes place in short (less than 5 mins) dialogues whenever you turn in a quest/ask for another one.
To make up for the ridiculously short main story theres 4 other guilds you can join and do quests for. This is the part you'll need to be somewhat of an rpg nut to finish since i imagine someone who dislikes rpgs will probably have no motivation to do these extra quests. Anyway hope it helped.
do i have to be REALLY into rpgs? like an rpg freak or somethingpygmahia5Not really because it is not a traditional RPG, its an action rpg and its really fun, Its a lot like GTA in some ways as you can run around in a big open ended world and do pretty much whatever, you can do main quest, side quest, other stuff, you can kill random people, steal from random people and its almost like your not playing an RPG. But like all RPGs there is a level grind so enjoy that.
will i be dissappointed with graw 2's single player? like will i regret ever buyin itpygmahia5
If you care a lot about the single player yes you will. It's not the single player's bad, the single player is fantastic at some points, but it's also EXTREMELY easy and EXTREMELY short. If I went back through it right now I could probably get it done in under 3 hours. The multiplayer is where it's at in GRAW 2, it has some really good co op modes that are lots of fun to try and complete, and plenty of options for versus and solo matches. Only thing is there's no co op through the main story, just through separate maps kind of like Rainbow Six's Terrorist Hunt mode.
If you want great single player along with great multiplayer then get Rainbow Six Vegas, if you hate bullet lag and don't care about how long the single player is, get GRAW 2.

That's because JRPGs are not really RPGs.. For many reasons.. one being that you can't create your own character.
