Definately! The whole FPS -genre is getting so boring. Halo 3, Blacksite, F.E.A.R. files, COD 4, etc. I couldn't care less... I like Assassin's Creed alot, some people say that it's repetitive. But what about those shooters - all you do is shoot stuff!
There are a lot of shooters I agree but if they keep the same high quality as the likes of COD4 or Bioshock then I'm not really bothered. But something fresh like AC is nice.
i think there are way too many shooters on the 360 its okay if they are a bit different and not just run and gun but i would love to see more games like oblivion and mass effect because they are longer and more interesting in general imo
I wouldn't say there are too many shooters. I like variety. But i do agree that there needs to be more games like Assassins Creed for sure. Not enough variety in that department.
I decided to go with AC over COD4 only because I am tired of shooters. I know I would probably enjoy COD4 more but after playing through the Orange Box I don't want to play another shooter for awhile.
I think they need more JRPG's. I guess that's an ironical request considering it's an American made system, but I miss the Chrono Chross / FF depth of things ;( (goes back to finishing assassin's creed)
its still supply and demand. People Still Want their intense FPS, even if it is repetitive. But it seems that this cycle has started to hit its peak. Dev,s just need to get past the "Holy crap, we can make games that look like this" point. Like a kid with a new toy. We should see more engaging gameplay ina short time down the road. Hopefully :P
It's a Western cultural thing. I don't mind the excess of FPS as long as they're fun. It's always fun to shoot stuff! :D

Bingo! I love shooters, and just started to play COD4 online, and its awsome.
I'll be like everyone else though...get bored of it and wait for the next one. like Battlefield: Bad Company. That'll be Bad***
But in the mean time we need more variety to fill the middle. I keep playing Oblivion for hours, but after i'm finished, I play some shooter online for about half an hour...

Halo is a Sci-Fi shooter, Mass Effect is a RPG with Third Person Shooter elements. Bioshock is an almost horror shooter. Rainbow Six is a strategic tacticalshooter. GeOW is...idk how to rly describe GeOW cuz I've never played it.
Definitely. There are way too many shooters these days. I have always been more into adventure/platforming games and RPGs and games like those. The endless slew of shooting games upsets me. Not enough originality anymore. Most games are all extreme and badass. I like showing my childish side and play somewhat cartoony games, like Kameo and Mario and others. The Zelda games are my favorite.
