Im thinking of getting an Elite, but I have a question first.....

My HDTV only goes up to 1080i, so I was curious if HDMI makes any difference for my set up and is it a big difference from the current HD connection on my premium?

The hdmi should not be the main reasono to buy an elite. You should only(premium owners) buy the elite if you could see yourself actually needing the hardrive space.

Dont bother getting the Elite unless you have a hdmi 1080p tv.  No, you wont gain a better picture. Unless you just want a black 360, the elite will be a waste of money for you.

Component will carry 1080i for HD-DVD and games, no real reason to upgrade to Elite if you need the HD space just by the hard driver separate.

i have a 1080i sony tube 34inch hd tv,and like my upscaling dvd player hdmi made the biggest difference in audio, that standard was designed to pass uncompressed high end audio along with a uncompressed digital video signal. its slight but there is an improvement on video quality, its cleaner. but this is my first 360 so im not making the choice to upgrade from a previous moel.

Dude don't bother... just get the bigger harddrive after which will come with the transfer cable. The elite doesn't come with it. The elite is a good purchase for people who don't have a 360 yet or have a gigantic 1080p tv with a crazy audio setup.

dont listen to them, get one! i know im going to be one of the first people to own one here, so im so happy:) about that, well actually, if all ur wanting is the space, wait for the 120gb hard-dive to come out seperately, because it comes with a migration cable, so u can get ur info from ur 20gb to the 120gb. but, u know, i want MORE space and some awesome hdtv, so im just spending the extra money and buying one, im smahing my old one, muhuhhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, watch youtube for that, ill be posting it soon probably.
