So my xbox 360 broke and it is still in the 1 year warranty and I have the receipt from where I bought it. I think I can trade the pro for a new elite, but I want to keep all my saved info and gamer points that I have on my 20 gb harddrive. Anybody have any advice of how to keep all of my saves, arcade games, xbl stuff, gamerpoints, ect but still get a brand new elite? thanks

You can always download everything again once you recover your gamertag. You wont loose your your gamerpoints. You are going to lose all your saves though.

I don't want to loose anysaves in like Gears or Cod3 and Dead Rising ect. Is it possible to transfer all my saves and profiles to 1 64mb memory card? or would it fill up really fast?

Or you could dish out an extra $40 for a memory card.

yeah but since I would be trading it in I wouldn't be able to keep my harddrive to transfer the data.

If you have a memory card put your gamertag on there and it will keep your saves. I also know that the EB here lets you keep your 20GB HDD when you trade in for an elite so you can do the transfer cable thing, ask the store there about it.

Oh lol. I aint even notice because I'm at work and somebody closed my internet window. It would fill up really fast I mean if you already beat the game you can always redownload your content once you recovered your account.

I think that would lower the rate that they will give you for your trade-in offer.

yeah I know but somebody else posted that at a store by them they can trade their pro in for an elite, BUT keep the harddrive from their pro so they can do a data transfer to the elites harddrive.

Ask the guys to see if you can transfer your files and then give them the harddrive instead of keeping it. Its always worth a shot.

When I traded in my Premium I was offered two prices, one with the hard drive and one without. The third option was the hard drive alone. So basically you can keep the HD, trade it in a week or so later.

Your HD has nothing to do with your points, you can get those with a clean HD. Its only your save games, and any downloaded content. If you bought stuff from the arcade you just have to re-download it.

Just get a memory card, transfer all of your saved games to it, and recover your gamertag on the elite console and redownload all of the marketplace content.

Today the elite is $479.99, tomorrow (August 8th) is the offical date for the xbox elite to be lowered in price to $449.99. This is only in America tho. there is also a xsata cable that i think you can transfer all your save files to your computer. get the elite and transfer the save files back over. and recover your gamertag and re-download arcade games if you had any.

does anybody know if the store that I bought it from (best buy) can confirm that I bought it there with a serial number or something. because I had the reciept a month or so ago and now I cannot find my owners manual which it was in. Or will xbox support automatically take my xbox back because it broke even though I don't have a reciept. I still have everything like the box, all the manuals except the main one, and even the packaging stuff.and my xbox broke within 1 year but Im not sure how to confirm that without my reciept. any more suggestions?

Did you register it? if not they will honor the 3 rings warranty, but will be harder proving your manufacturer warranty for the rest of the xbox.

I dont think Bestbuy keeps their receipts available (can you imagine how much data that would be), and if I remember correctly they tell you to hold on to the extended warranty meaning its unlikely they have record of it.
