I've been playing Rainbow Six games since the first one... I got into Ghost Recon with Ghost Recon 2... I have been playing Splinter Cell on and off since the beginning... HAWX was meh... never played Endwar...
I think I liked Rainbow Six the best until Vegas... I liked it, but it just didn't seem like previous Rainbow Six games... I wasn't really into the story... I have been really getting into Ghost Recon since GRAW's release... and I liked the first Splinter Cell a little, but not enough to continue on in the series... after the first, I didn't play another Splinter game until Chaos Theory and I got Double Agent at launch because I liked Chaos Theory...
I know this is almost blasphemous (as a combo PC/360 gamer), but I liked the Rainbow Six games that have been released on consoles more (except Lockdown, played the demo, didn't really like it) than the early PC versions. I have, I believe, most of the early R6 PC games, but they just didn't seem to 'vibe' with me. It's a hard thing to describe really.
RSix3 on the original Xbox was great, and so was the 'expansion' (Black Arrow) (even if I found them a touch difficult at times), and I dug both Vegas games. I liked the demo of 3 on PC, but I haven't played the full version yet. Ghost Recon I don't mind (I enjoyed GRAW- even though there were times I got frustrated at that game too...), but the more 'realistic' feel (dying from few shots) of those games annoy me at times. But I did finish the first couple of GR games on the Xbox (never played GR2 though).
I liked the demo of HAWX, seemed like some good fun. But, for me, the Rainbow Six games (from 3 onwards excluding Lockdown) are my favourites.
This is too hard of a choice. Each series has it's own pros/cons that make them equal.

I haven't played HAWX, so I can't judge it.
Ghost Recon, I will still drop anyone on the first one. I loved that game so much I had it on XBOX and later bought it on Steam. I was really good at it too.
tom clancy games have started to be published too much.. Endwar and Hawx are a good example of that. RSV2 is a good game, and i hope they continue making NEW games instead of just re-releasing the same game interface/graphics with a new setting(COD:WaW, COD4, COD3).. They need to keep the name in high standing, because at one point, you knew, even if you didn't like it, a Tom Clancy branded game was solid.. ..there have been bumps along the way though... I would say Splinter Cell, Ghost recon and rainbow 6 are the ones ive played the most. PACEdRuGGeRnaUtNow i agree :P
