tony hawk or skate!?!

Which do you like better and why?

depends on whether u like to do a frontflip 900 off a building and land it(Tony Hawk) or Do a kick flip into a 5.0 then ollie off...

If u ask me i like tony hawk much more... dont get me wrong skate is great to... i just love being able to bust out a 500,000 point combo by continuesly manualing and grinding...

i liked Underground series the best to all tony hawk... Skate is awsome, and is the next step for skateboarding games... Tony Hawk Kinda started to do something similar to skate on their last game... but it was way too confusing..

Skate 2 should be even better, cant wait.

Skate is the epitome of a skating game. It's like EA Black Box just gets it, you know? Neversoft has been milking the TH series for years and Skate came along a shook their world up. It made skating in a video game feel realistic, alive and fluid for the first time. Not an arcadey, button mashing-fest. Made everyone realize that we've been playing the same game, with minor tweaks, for many years now. I'm guessing since TH took a year off we'll most likely see it come back with the same kind of analog control scheme Skate pioneered.

I'm a huge Skate fan and with Skate 2 looming in the future, I don't think I'll be going back to the TH series anytime soon.

Edit: And if you're wondering why I have a THPG icon in my played games, it's because I bought it for $9.99. RadioShack had it on clearence! lol Otherwise I wouldn't have, it's not that great. The only thing it did do is make me go buy Guitar Hero III after I played the demo on THPG. GHIII is awesome!

i think skate. tony hawk is getting old. activation comes out with a new one like every year. tony hawk was good until underground 2 then it went downhill.

i am starting to think that skate will start to be like tony hawk...

let me put it this way. i was a tony hawk diehard for many many many MANY years... i started playing back when pizza hut released a demo for the PS1..

but i played THPG and i thought it was HORRIBLE. there's nothing that has really been added to the game over the years, its got some serious flaws (glitches), and completing most of the goals on SICK! level is..well...nearly impossible.

OMG I completely forgot about that demo, I think that was the first time a lot of people played THPS. I have to say the series peaked at THPS 3 (THPS2 having the best levels tho) and then Tony Hawk peaked again at THUG. Overall though Skate turned action sports and skating games on its head and totally blows everything out of the water (cept SSX, still the best action sports series).

Buy Skate without a doubt I still play it all the time.
