Plz no opinions from peple who have not played the game at all, or barley gave the demo a shot. I personally feel that this was rather low cuz I quite like it. IT reminds me of Diablo a bit and it's fun to customize your character from the ground up. A few cool touches are when you click the right analog stick it does a panaramic view of your character so you can see all the cool stuff you've equipped him with. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy but I think they did a fine job and the camera's not as bad as they say once you realize the game is linear and you don't have to look around and it gives you very scenic cam shots alot.....I"m curious what you guys think about it, do you think the game is that bad? Or are you liking it?

trust me, I never do. It is a matter of taste and I do realize it's not for all, but I just felt that was an undeserved score and I feel like alot of people just hopped on the bandwagon chanting "it sucks" without really giving it a chance. The combat is so freakin fun to me and I am considered by many many friends to be a game snob (like i nit pick at every little thing that's wrong).

Yea i agree with the controls being awkward at first but they do get better over time. saying this from playing the demo only, have not baught the game yet, had to choice between too human now or fable 2 later due to college.

while the game DOES have a bit of a learning curve, the game overall is amazing. I beat the main campaign in 10:34 which to me is WAY to short (I explored all the secret areas and everything) but the fact that there is pretty massive incentive to play through the game with the same character a second time is great. I plan to play through the game with my champion again before even starting a new single player character. If you can get a reliable coop partner, the game can be a lot of fun online as well. As for how addicting it is....I played the game for 8 hours (broke it into a few segments of a few hours each) in one day when I got it. That's how addicted to leveling up my character and getting him new armor I was.

I'd recommend Too Human if you dig dungeon crawler hack n' slash games with a lot of loot. I wouldn't recommend to others, though. They'll think it's far too repetitive, because their not used to these kinda games. Anyways, it's a quality product, but it does have some rough edges (projectile targeting/camera).

The game deserves more of a 7 or 7.5 imo.. not a 5.

The bottomline is that the fun factor is very hard.

Completely disagree. TFU did nothing for me. I'd recommend a rent for that one. There will be no replay value whatsoever. With TH, you have loot and different classes.

Insanely bad controls, the worst i've encountered in YEARS. That and it's story is about as interesting as dish water. The custscenes look like they were animated by animation students, not proffetionals (I should know, I am one lol). You can argue about its good points all day, but the fact is - the games industry has changed, I expect to get some serious bang for my buck when it comes to purchasing games, not something that feels like it's still atleast a year off release. That, and you spend more time in menus than a multiplayer match of ghost recon.

Not to mention all the stunts the company tried to pull, anyone still remember them sueing epic over their engine not being done for them lol, everyone else seemed to get on more than fine with the UIII engine.... Not realy a reason to dislike the game, but an interesting fact none-the-less.

.... You did ask.... lol

PS2 graphics? Errr... no. I can fully acknowledge that it's not the best looking game out on consoles, but it doesn't look anywhere near a PS2 game. First, you have the resolution switch from 480i (PS2) to 720p (Xbox 360), so you have a high definition image providing a cleaner and crisper image than any PS2 game. Not to mention, the textures are well above anything that could've been offered on a PS2.

Also, I'd recommend learning the controls. Real bad? Really? Odd, I have mastered the controls and they don't give me any problems at all. Instead of expecting instant gratification, I like a challenge. And I'm glad Too Human doesn't cater to the casual gamers.

You are completely right on 1 part thats i am a " Casual Gamer" and just to get a idea we put in a copy of Kindom Heart 2 in the playstation 2 on a standard Tv and put in TH on the HDTV and KH2 look 100x better..It turned into a slam on my friend for wasteing 60$ on TH he has 2 Tv's next to each other so we can check a game or something on the other Tv..check it out yourself if you still have a PS2/Xbox

I have KH2 and I can tell you that that's completely untrue. It's at 480i resolution and has more washed out textures, while TH is at 720p and has crisper textures, thanks to the resolution bump to HD. You may like the artstyle in KH2, but to say it's technically better than TH is untrue.

a 5.5 really boils down to an OPINION. that's it. there isn't a conspiracy going on, and if there is, who care?!?! they're games! this site isn't the NSA database or anything people. it's a game site. so if you don't agree with a score, take note of the reviewer and don't read his/her reviews anymore. either that, or go to one of the other eleventy-billion game review sites on the interweb, but don't say that a reviewer should have given the game another score. that's just asonine.

No, the point I was trying to make was; I've been playing games obsessively for a realy, realy long time. Seeing something like too-human and trying to say that if you don't like it you're a 'casual gamer' is a bit ignorant.

Gamespot reviews have sucked for a long time, and this new .5 increment system only made them worse.

Go to IGN for reviews.

You have to wash out all the HD tech spec's and just put it in and see for yourself, i completely understand all about HD and how it works but remember the graphics code have to match the power of the system, if you match it up by eye you will see for yourself.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. On a technical level, a PS2 game doesn't look better than an Xbox 360 game. Heck, even Gun (a PS2/Xbox port) looked slightly better on Xbox 360. That's a fact. There's no way of dancing around it.

Oh gosh buddy you are so funny, ever considered an internet sit down comedy career?

On a more serious note, stop taking reviews so damn seriously, it's what some guy tought about the game, maybe you will love it, if a game you like gets a bad review, who cares? You should'nt feel the urge to defend that game just cause some guy thought it sucks, maybe the guy who wrote the review has a different taste, thought about that?

okay, 5.5 is too low.

this game can be very frustrating in many places, mainly with the camera, controls, and sometimes the enemies. (those red guys that blow up on contact- If you've played the game you probably know what i'm talking about)

BUT

it is a good rpg, with deeeeep customization options and way more than enough items and loot drops. And, the action is really awesome when everything works properly. I'll admit, sometimes, it can be corny, like in cyberspace (opening a door by pushing in a wall, lifting it and releasing a ginormous fish... WTF?) or in the story and stuff, but yeah overall it deserved at least a 7. IGN reviewed it better, i think.

I like the game personally. The game is about 12 hours give or take and the story is only 1/3 there. But I wasn't expecting all that. For what it is, being a hack n slash loot drop game it's great. Going on runs over and over to find that next piece of uber gear is awesome. Anyone who doesn't enjoy PSO type games will hate it.

if there wasnt the whole ten year wait thing this game prbly woulda gotten better scores across the board. it seemed like ppl jsut wanted to rip on this game as soon as it came out, if neone paid any attention to metacrtic, the reivews came out insanely fast rite when it was released. its like ppl didnt even give it time or a second chance.

I tried the demo, which didn't make much of an impression on me. The graphics and sound were decent enough. But I must say that using the right analog stick to attack while not having any control over the camera was horrible idea that never should have made it into the final game. Didn't anyone beta test this? The story also seemed like pure cheese, something about robot Norse gods in the future. The demo didn't seem like a 5.5 though, as that's generally reserved for godawful movie IP based games. What I played seemed more like a pretty solid 7.0, eg some bad design choices, but fans of Diablo-esque hack n slash games might enjoy it. I think much of the backlash against this game stemmed from unreal expectations due to an overly long development cycle. I'm also not convinced that Gamespot has any idea how to properly review a game at this point.
