too late to buy 360?

hey guys i was thinking about picking up 360 in a month or two so i was wondering is it too late to buy it with e3 being around the corner and all or u guys think its gona live for few more years thanksXxXdoggersXxX

A rumor most likely started by some sony fanboys... Why would they abandon it so early when they already have a large installed base? It doesn't make sense economically.

It's definitely not too late. So many good games out and more coming in 08.

It was talked about in the system wars forum a few days ago.

People would be angry if MS released the next xbox before 2010.

And its just a rumor, it could be true or false....nobody knows.

No it was prediction by EA abt a new 360 in 2010, but Ms confirms it that they are going atleast for 8 years life cycle. So expect to see a new xbox in 2013 or near that time.

Just to cite example 360's hardware has not been utilized completly till now Gears 1 only used 50% of the processor even when the UE3 game engine was too buggy at that time. Line up is looking good for 2008 now with NG2, Too human, Gears 2 and Fable 2 as exclusive also a lot of multiplatform games are coming. So Relax abt games.

As for as the hardware goes new models have low failure rates so get them, Its called 'Falcon'. Only the old models had problem but they have been discontinued now, but be careful if you are buying from grey market.

this guy said it all... and imo it's the best time to buy a 360... some of the best games are already out...and you can kill time by playing them and waiting for the games that are coming out...

A couple of the people on my friends list and myself who bought the Falcon Model and have gotten the rrod. Ive heard that the failure rate is around 16% for the falcon model and more than 30% for the older models. So yea if you buy the Falcon Model the chance of getting the rrod is lower but theres still a chance...

I hope MS doesn't drag it out as long as Sony plans to. We need new hardware and will need an HD format soon.

It has a new falcon chip that greatly reduces the chance of RRoD. The new xbox 360s that people buy has them. Just becareful to not buy one that has been in a store's storage for like 8 months.

It's pretty much the sum of all the improvments made. The falcon has a 65nm cpu but still a 90nm gpu. The jasper is going to be a 65/65 unit. So, yeah, i guess you could say that it's a falcon with a smaller die gpu. It should help a lot with keeping things cool too.

From what I can tell, the falcon has fixed all the major issues like rrod. So, there's really no need to wait for the jasper if that's what you're worried about.

Too late? **** no! 3 reasonably-priced SKUs, a plethora of great games (especially good platinum hits that you've probably missed), and a new hardware design that hasn't received reports of RROD yet (I think). This is the best time to purchase an Xbox 360. Ever since word got out on the Falcon hardware revision people have been scooping the console up and with the introduction of the Xbox 360 Arcade expect more people to get interested.

............OK. Now that statement looks like something quoted out of a Microsoft PR handbook :lol: But seriously dude, now is the best time to get an xbox 360. This way you can still find and enjoy the old games and have a system that'll probably last you until the end of this gaming generation.
