[QUOTE="KURUPT_ON3"]This has to be the thread of the day lol haven't seen this much stupidity since the blonde with the psp incident.nailz83
Which incident was that?! lol
Wish I had a link but anyways in the psp forums some gsmember created a topic on how to get their psp games to work. It turned out that the person took out the game from its umd case and thought that it was only a protective case and that the disc would spin on its own, so they finally found out that the case is not supposed to be taken off and that they possibly broke their game.

we were like..."You're blonde right?" and she was like how'd you know
Like 10 years ago I had a K6 400mhz cpu I was gonna just turn the fan off it. It still had a heat sink on it and failed within only a few minutes of having the PC turned on, I of course had to put fan back on the heat sink. Newer cpus go into power saving mode and such, so you probably won't notice any failure until you start using a game.
But your going to probably kill your CPU, I can't see why you wouldn't want the heat sink and fan on your cpu, its like driving a car without oil in its engine.
1. Heatsink: sinks, or lowers, the heat of the object in which it is installed
2.If your console was under warranty(maybe you got it extended or something), now MS ccan share no blame in w/e happens to your system

yeah, overall, just a horrible thing u just did to your xbox 360
Heck NO - obviously you're new to electronic / PC building. What you did WILL make the 360 fail - no doubt about it, it's just a matter of time. You are going to fry your CPU or GPU (depending on which heatsink you removed) and none of it will be covered under warranty.
Open it up and get the heatsink back on there ASAP - or your Xbox will be dead very soon. Then you'll have a heap of non-working crap in a nice shiny chrome case.
Wow, this is akin to taking out the radiator on your car because you wanted a new front bumper that looks cooler...
Shave it, do whatever, but put the bloody thing back in!!!

Personally I think this one beats the "blonde" psp one. Why...
Because he has enough tech knowledge to change his case but think it's a good thing to leave the heatsink off. Also he knows what the heatsink is and still thinks it's ok to leave it off.
He might not be as naive as the psp blonde - but he sure is ALLOT more insane! :) LOL
alright guys thanks for the criticism but i failed to mention that I modded this back in august so it's almost been an entire year with no heatsink. Also I had no warranty left. Plus i COULDN"T get this thing back on. It had to fit perfectly and i couldn't do it.JedimasterNick
As I said - he knows enough to know better. So this gets my vote! :)
(and if you were legitimately asking if it's a good idea without it, then... NO)
