Here are my top 10:
10. "Zelda Wii"
I needed a Wii game on my list
9. Red Dead Redemption
The wild west is a theme not explored very much, at least succesfully. I didn't play the first Red Dead, but this game seems like it is going to deliver. Some of the game mechanics, like when your horse is stolen you can whistle and the horse will kick the person off, seem very unique. I think it is fair to say that this game is going to play similar to GTA IV since it's using the same engine and it is a open world game. And any game like GTA IV is ok with me.
8. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction
The Splinter Cell franchise has come a long way, but it needed a change. The basic concept of the game did not change a whole lot. Conviction is going to give the franchise a breath of air. No longer are you working for that one company. (Let's be real. No one knows. All the games' stories sucked.) From impressions, the game is much more fast paced than its predecessors. It also includes a co-op mode which doesn't really seem just tacked-on. This is going a good package.
7. Battlefield Bad Company 2
I don't know why but the first Battlefield Bad Company was very overlooked in my opinion. But, it was a very good multiplayer game. As a matter of fact it as one of the best I've ever played. That game was very dear to me. It was like no other multiplayer game I ever played. There has a recent series of videos for Bad Company 2, and just watching one of those videos can make someone say "I need to get this game". It looks that good. And in the sequel you are now able to level whole buildings which sadly, was missing from the first game. Also add customizable ****s, the absolutely stunning sound, and this is finally the game that may get people off of Modern Warfare 2.
6. Alan Wake
This game amazes me for some reason. This game has been in development for forever, and unitl recently, none of us knew anything about this game. All there was were screenshots. However, it has been one of the most anticipated games this generation. Now that the embargo has been lifted of this Remedy game, whether the game lives up to the hype can be debated. Honestly, to me the combat looks a little weak. However, what draws me in is the atmosphere. It seems so creepy, so tense and that's why it landed here at #6.
5. Max Payne 3
Pretty sad that this game had to delayed to 2010. This game was on my list for most anticpated games of 2009. And we have not any of the game since then, but there's no doubt in my mind that this will be an excellent sequel. And out of any game on this list, Max Payne 3 has mystery that I need answered. What happened to his hair?
4. Mass Effect 2
Bioware is the one game company that has never disappointed me. Mass Effect was an excellent action RPG with a story that in my opinion, could be made into a movie. And I usually do not like replaying games, even with RPGs with choices such as Mass Effect. But, I already played it twice on 360 and I'm going to give it another go on PC. One of the interesting features of the game is that you save carries on, I can't wait to see how my previous actions affect Mass Effect 2.
3. Mafia II
This game had particular great cinematic trailers. I thought, ok so what great trailers, but the game be crap. I was wrong. When I first saw gameplay of this game, i was amazed. First off the game looks great for an open-world game. And it plays like a third-person shooter. And it seems to have the story of a RPG. The narrative in the game is amazing in my opinion. I cannot wait to enter the world of Mafia II
2. The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings
It was easy to overlook the first game with the plethora of other great games that came out in 2007. But, if you have not played The Witcher, you are missing out on life. Put it simply, The Witcher is the best RPG i have ever played. Let's just get past the amazing story and great combat. But the atmosphere, the atmosphere. I have never felt so part of a world before in a game. You never even realize you are playing a video game until you press the ESC button and see the menu. The world is so real and the NPCs you talk to seem so real. That's all I can go off of for the sequel because there's nothing that has been really showed. The Witcher 2 is actually one of the few sequels I hope do not stray far from its original formula.
#1. Black Mesa (Half Life 1 Remake)
That's right, the #1 game on my list of most anticipated games for 2010 is not actually a game. It is a mod. But not just any mod. It is the remake to the shooter that probably changed it all, Half Life. Black Mesa has been in development for literally six years. And thank god I didn't learn about it until last year. This mod is going to be a complete remake of the orginal Half Lfe using graphics similar, but better than HL2: Ep2. It is simply going to be an amazing experience to replay one of my most favorite shooters with today's standards. Black Mesa makes me happy to be a PC gamer. Oh and just in case some of you were wondering exactly how this game will look, here's the new model for the scientists:
What are some of your guy's most anticipated games?
