For me the hardest ones to get are involved in the play modes I never play. Example win 15 rounds in capture the flag. If I dont like the mode or dont play it its hard enough to make my self play it let alone win the match.
I completed COD4 on veteran, including mile high club, so it can't be THAT hard. I reckon the hardest ones are games like FIFA where you have to win X ranked matches online in a row.
Beating levels on Veteran in Call of Duty is not too hard, it just takes patience. Although, I still haven't been able to beat Mile High Club on Veteran yet but I also haven't really even attempted it in 6 months.
That (easy if you sort of cheat though) and beating Resident Evil 5 on the hardest mode. Fighting a certain girl whom you can't kill but she can kill you and your buddy if one kick is sort of kind of annoying. Can't think of too many achievements that are really hard besides any that involve beating a game on its hardest difficulty like RE5 or Gears 2 or COD4.

That part in RE5 is simple, Have whoever is gonna hold equip the grenade launcher with nitrogen rounds and stun her with them and then hold her. The other person should have a fully upgraded magnum (preferably the S&W M500) and while she is being held blast the emblem but don't throw her. Have the person with the grenade launcher blast her again and do the same as before 5 times more. On your sixth time of shooting the jewel on her chest throw her and it should come off on your first pull. That strategy made this part on Professional insanely easy.
some the ones I think of as being hard to get are -Final Fantasy XI (most of them) -Culdcept Saga win 200 games online (few people play, and those who do are uber... this achievement would take months if not a year or more to get imo) -Ikaruga beat the game without a continue -Robotron 2084 reach Wave 100 -Ninja Gaiden II complete on Master Ninja (there's supposedly a cheap method to do it though) -Smash TV beat the game without a continue -Grand Theft Auto IV Auf Wiederhesen Petrovic -Joust reach stage 100 Those are just games I'm most familiar with
That one was pretty easy for me. Just get a team of 4, get one of them to have the tank go after them but not shoot it, then only you shoot the tank. I think Nothing Special is pretty respected though.

That achievement is more time consuming than hard.
Perfect Dark Zero, complete the game on Dark Agent difficulty. That's hard...really hard. I've completed many games on their hardest difficulty settings and PDZ on Dark Agent has to be the hardest for me.
The lot of the FFXI ones aren't ones that I would directly consider 'hard' in a skill sense, but it'd certainly be interesting to see someone with the full gamerscore amount.

I have it, as do many others. It's not a hard achievement, just takes time or somebody that doesn't get bored of spamming one bit on the campaign over and over again.
trueachievements.com does the same exact thing. They measure difficulty and have multiple user uploaded strategies for achievements.RAMRODtheMASTER
not really what i ment - they simply express their take o a system they don't like. i'm talking about the more scientific aspects among XBL-members who actually would like to see if they just did something awesome or not. if they have any achievements worth mentioning in the community. ttrueachievements.com mostly nags over how the scoring is poorly balanced in the titltes for x360. I don't want leaderboards (pretty stupid since it's always the wierd guy with a lot of zeros or tildes or whatever in front of their tags who get to first place :P I want to work out the math behind it - based on reviews, the amout of people playing the game and the number of people having the achievement. and besides - this is just a small part of a bigger site for tracking games. There are countless out there, but with good writers and a solid design it's worth it for me as a hobby.
Playing for 50 hours total game-time in FIFA 09 should be well respected because it takes discipline to commit to that game for such a long time even though the achievement is worth 1 point. My gamerscore is stuck at either 9 or 4 on the end and it drives me insane, I need that 1 point just to get back to a 0 or 5 on the end.
i find beating Halo 3 on legendary quite challanging and sometimes impossible

just play it in co-op and its cake i found halo 2 much harder on legendary than halo 3 ever was, but i can't really can any of those games HARD. but it's a challenge for sure.

I believe I read that only one person has a legit 1000 GS on that game.
