Get a xbox fan that doesn't plug into the xbox, make sure it plugs in straight to the wall for the convienience of you xbox and this will also make you xbox last longer.

Any like electronic store should have one. I suggest Future shop. Or best buy (depends where you live).

Xbox fans void warranties. Best to just either have your ac on and keep your house at a low temperature. Also great ventilation!

make sure none of the ventilation holes are blocked or obstructed.

Don't place your console flat on carpet.

Don't put it in a media centre, as these things act like an oven - they trap the heat in and roast your 360.

Make sure it can get a supply of fresh air, rather than just re-circulating the air it already heated up.

i have an xbox fan i baught from curry's, also seen em in argos and woolworths. And on ebay. it plugs on to the back of the console and uses the same power supply as the xbox dose. e.g: power cable plugs into the back of the fan and the fan clips onto the back of the console plugging into the power cord slot. it has 3 fans sucking all the hot air and dust from the console.

It is also positioned on a metal tin allowing the vents underneath to suck clean air in. and i also have it opasit a window, infront of the window i sit a small desk fan wich sucks cool air into the room allowing cooling for me and the console. lol

I have played my console continuously for 11 hours without overheating. Gameing bingde with mates.

Here is what you do, get like $20, then go to Wal-Mart or any local shop where they sell a good variety of different size fans and buy one to suit your space needs and put it on the intake side of the 360 and point it right at the intake when you start to play. If you want you can also get an air cleaner/purifier so if you have alot of dust then it won't be throwing dust at your 360. Also after a session of gaming let your 360 idle for a few minutes with the fan on it to let it cool down the right way and not turning it right off, letting it sit in its own heat cause it takes forever for the heat to disperse that way. Its not about how cool you can get the 360 it how much heat can you move away from it.

Initially started with a table fan and a home made funnel to attach to it. I used the funnel to channel the cool air from the fan into the right side of the 360. I later setup 4 PC fans around my 360. I have them powered by a PC power supply. I basically have two pulling air in (on the right side) and two dragging air out (at the back). All of them are on the outside of the 360.

I can't afford my 360 to RROD or any other problem cause I live in Africa. Although it is still under UK warranty it will be so much hassle sending it for repairs.

I have also thought standing the 360 vertically was a big "no-no". I believe that by doing that you would surely be obstructing the largest surface for cool air to enter (air vents on the right). Initially I found that the internal fans only ran every once in a while, I am sure this was an attempt by Microsoft to run the 360 quietly but I am sure it is cooking when the fans are not running.

If you are thinking of playing GTA 4 on your 360 it would be a good idea to get some additional cooling. I have heard that GTA 4 pushes the 360 hard.

This is why you get a PS3 :) no problem with overheating and no need to add extra fans :) and plus its free to play it online :) or just get it on the PC when it comes outLCzapla01
Get out.....
