So Torchlight is on sale for $10 this week and I picked it up. After playing for a bunch of hours this week I think it is the best RPG on XBL. For those that don't know what it is, it's basically like Diablo on crack lol. Some of the same people behind the Diablo series made it, and it shows. Tons of levels, great action in fighting, lots of loot.

So anyone agree? Is not Torchlight, what do you think the best RPG on XBLA is?

Hmm, I too picked it up yesterday. At first I didn't like it much, but I couldn't stop playing and soon really got into it! However, now at the 17th floor its slowing down into a bit of an aoe grindfest for me, and the thought of having to do another 13 floors kind of makes me want to stab my eyes out with forks, but other than that you're right, its pretty fun, the play style can vary a lot, lots of fun spells and nice gear, great variance in mobs... but the difficulty scaling between floors just seems to be adding more mobs to kill, and coupled with the weak story I find it hard to continue, but I probably will. Still, I would recommend it, especially to any hardcore fan of that kind of RPG (Diablo etc). Read my full review here: http://criticalgamingstudies.blogspot.com, feedback appreciated =)

Any additional gameplay after that that's worth doing?

There's an endless dungeon after that, and some side quests.

In the upcoming sequel there is multiplayer, apparently, which I think would improve it.

Yeah Torchlight 2 has been confirmed as having co-op. Really enjoyed Torchlight so with a mate I reckon it should be superb. In response to OP though, not sure, definitely liked it but think I had more fun with deathspank.

It's a good game, reminds me a lot of the original Diablo. One major differences that I like is the ability to send your pet back to town to sell your loot. Something that became old really quick in Diablo. I will say though the game can get repetitive, but there does seem to be enough of a change in monsters and floor design to keep it interesting.

I wouldn't call it the best RPG on the Xbox (to me that's Dragon Age, or Mass Effect), but I would say it is the best dungeon crawler on the Xbox.

Edit...oops missed the LA part of XBLA....yeah in that case I guess it would be the best RPG on XBLA.

^^This.

For an Arcade game, and the price, you just can't go wrong. I'm really looking forward to Torchlight 2 with co-op. Now that will be awesome.

@ Iowns - Once main quest is done there is the never ending dungeon (and its legit never ending) so you can grind to your hearts content. Max level is 100.

@ Dal, Auera, Grenade - I agree this needs multiplayer. I really hope T2 gets ported over too.

@ Coaster, Paynee - Yeah XBLA RPG I was saying. As far as 360 RPG its in my top 5 (Oblivion, Dragon Age, Fable II, Torchlight all in there)

@ Deathpanda - I have heard this is the better one (aside from modding on PC) as far as controlls and UI.

I love the game(only have it on PC tho) such a breath of fresh air, easy to sit down and play.
