ROFL why don't you wrap every heat producing piece of electronic equipment in your house. I hear towels give electronic equipment super powers by blocking ventilation! hell we might as well just rip out the radiators on our cars, trust me it worked like charm.

Mr. Towelie!!! Why are you always high mr. Towelie?
Once you get the three red rings, all you have to do is turn the 360 off for 5 minutes. It will start working like normal after that. So all this towel bull is just some filler for something as simple as my technique, or the more trivial technique.

I had the red rings for 3 days. Turning it off and on, unplugging it, and removing the HDD did nothing to help it until I tried this trick. outIt will only fix your 360 for a certain ammount of time. You will get the 3 red rings of death again. The reason the towel trick works is because it heats up your 360's motherboard and that sort of jump starts it to work again. That's why a lot of people get the red lights when the 360 is cold.
The towel is just another method. You can also use a Heat Gun which would probably work better then the towel.
Anyway if you are out of a warranty, Then by all means try it if you'd like but if you are still within your warranty. DO NOT do the towel trick or any other "trick" and just send it to Microsoftreubendarosa
its doesnt "jump start" it to work again... the issue is that the motherboards are warping from heat, and that inturn is making the pins of the cpu and gpu lift from the sockets and breaking the connection with the sodder.. to me, i think its making it so hot inside that either the sodder is becoming soft and is reforming.. or that things are just setteling back into place, im not sure..  it sounds so stupid, but its working for so many people, so I cant make a judgement call on it.
if its out of warrenty and its broke, what do you have to lose? I say try what works.. I've seen a video of a guy that tilted his side ways and hit it 3 times with his hand.. and that make it work.. so who knows? lol

Then we hear that 360 cold can get the red lights. .

I think i know how to do that trick
a 360 out of warranty
the 360 you bought to replace it
a towel
a camera
wrap the 360 with the red rings in a towel record. switch 3 min later and then play with the new Xbox works all the time.
